Title: Los Angeles Angels Trading Block
Post by: lp815 on July 14, 2009, 03:21:52 PM
Scot Shields, RP
Kelvim Escobar, SP
Ervin Santana, SP
Howie Kendrick, 2B
Vladimir Guerrero, OF
Gary Matthews Jr., OF

Interested in all positions in return.

I'm ok with open trade talk, I know some managers look down on this, but it doesn't bother me.  If you don't want to see it, don't read my post. :-)  So post offers if you wish.

I am not sure if we are interested in anyone on that list... maybe Kendrick, but I doubt it unless there was another prospect in the mix.

Would you be interested in MI Dan Uggla?

Absolutely.  And I'd be ok with a package deal, what prospects are you interested in?

Wood is arguably my best prospect (though not technically one).  I won't put both Kendrick and Wood in for Uggla given Kendrick's flashes of decency the last two years and Wood's future ability.  Currently at work, I'll respond to offers, but won't make any until I get off here in a couple hours.

I know Wood is the best prospect, and I wouldn't even take Kendrick off your hands if that was the case.

I could give you Uggla and Morgan (who could help your hurt outfield big time) for Wood.

The Pirates are interested in Weaver, Saunders and Vlad (only if he is sold on the cheap).  Buccos would even be willing to throw in some prospects such as Jose Tabata.  Also, we would like to shed some contracts in Jack Wilson, so it depends on what you want.  PM me or post in this thread.

Hey Colby.  I have a big interest in Garrett Jones.  Tabata peaks my interest also.  How cheap are you wanting Vlad?  Under 5 mil?

Actually, I have no interest in Vlad.  Jones has been a pleasant surprise for the Pirates.  Considering we have him on the cheap through 2012, I would expect a decent return if he was shipped.

Do the Angels have an interest in Matt Holliday to help them with their outfield woes?  Also, MI Orlando Cabrera is available.  You have the money, and the A's need some youth in the pipeline.

The A's have interest in Weaver, Escobar, Sandoval, and Walden and those players only.

The Pirates want to obtain a CI to build around for the future.  With that said, Morales is a favorite even if we had to pay him big in 2011.

November 17th Update:
Angels and picks on the block:

MI Uggla, Dan, $10.5m (2010)
CI Jones, Chipper, $13.5m (2012)
CI Lee, Derrek, $13m (2010) ($3 mil already paid by Cubs)
OF Guerrero, Vladimir, $12m (2010)
MI Rodriguez, Sean, $0.5m (P-2011)
1-8 LAA (from CHC)
2-9 LAA (from CIN)
2-25 LAA

Guerrero, Lee & Uggla are good rentals for anyone looking to compete next year, Jones I would trade for another large salary (preferably an OF) roughly the same as his, since I doubt anyone would take on his hefty contract. Would prefer to cut a bit of salary, so please no offers that would increase my cap.  Open to public talks. :koolaid:
Title: Re: Los Angeles Angels Trading Block (Nov. 17th Update)

This may help you free up some cash, but how about Damon for Lee and a draft pick without their cash considerations.  The pick is needed since the Pirates would be taking on another $5-$6m in salary.
Title: Re: Los Angeles Angels Trading Block (Nov. 17th Update)
Post by: lp815 on November 17, 2009, 02:51:29 PM
A solid offer.  Give me a day to think on it, and I'll get back to you.  Would love to see where Damon ends up in real life, but this might be an offer I'll take regardless, and odds are he would go to a strong team anyway.

Title: Re: Los Angeles Angels Trading Block (Nov. 17th Update)
Post by: lp815 on November 24, 2009, 02:47:44 PM
Players on the block as of Nov. 24th:

OF Guerrero, Vladimir, $12m (2010)
CI Jones, Chipper, $13.5m (2012)
C Mathis, Jeff, $0.5m (P-2010)
P Speier, Justin, $4.5m (2010)
OF Willits, Reggie, $0.5m (P-2010)
P O'Sullivan, Sean, $0.5m (P-n/a)

Draft Picks:
1-8 LAA (from CHC)
2-9 LAA (from CIN)
3-25 LAA
4-17 LAA (from OAK)
6-25 LAA
7-25 LAA
8-25 LAA
9-8 LAA (from CHC)
9-25 LAA
10-8 LAA (from CHC)
10-25 LAA

Guerrero is a good rental for anyone looking to compete next year.  Chipper has a hefty salary, I would move him for another player with roughly the same salary if you are looking to switch large contract players, or if you are just interested in general.  Bottom four players I would move for low round draft picks (6th-10th), or low end prospects.  For the 8th overall pick, I would prefer a decent SP2/SP3 who is relatively young (<27 yrs.).

Feel free to post here or message me.
