The Blue Jays and Tigers have agreed to the following deal:
Blue Jays send:
3B Brett Lawrie (ML) (2014: $480k, 2015: arb, 2016: arb, 2017: arb)
SP Trevor Bauer (ML) (2014: $480k, 2015: arb, 2016: arb, 2017: arb)
SP Jonathan Martinez (Short Season A) (minor league contract)
Tigers send:
2B Omar Infante (ML) (2014: $4m, 2015: $4m)
SP Rick Porcello (ML) (2014: $5.1m, 2015: arb)
C Andrew Susac
$2m

It's especially tough to give up Porcello because I think he'll have an excellent season but there are a few reasons that I made this deal for the Tigers. I'm a believer in both Lawrie and Bauer living up to their potential, though I realize they both come with risks. I also like that I'm saving a good chunk of salary and I think Martinez has a shot to eventually be a solid MLB regular.

Pretty bad trade, Tigers.

Blue Jays confirm, though note that the $2M is for both 2014 & 2015.
Blue Jays make this deal for a few reasons. I realize the talent Lawrie & Bauer have, but I'm not as high on them as the Tigers are. I fill a few holes for the upcoming season, particularly 2B. Thirdly, I love Susac and had no catching depth in the minors, so he plugs a hole there.

Tigers looking more long term, Gonna be interesting to see how this turns out 3 years from now, :iatp:

If this was a one-season league, I wouldn't be so positive about my side of this deal but when factoring in age and team control, I like it.
Care to expand on your four-word assessment, Chris?

I'd rather let others chime in for now.

If approved, please place Susac in AA. Thanks.

Good trade.

It's not the prettiest trade around, but it's not vetoable.
:iatp:

If the trade passes, I'd like Jonathan Martinez sent to Short Season A.
