From the Rules:
If a player has two positions, the contract must be equal to, or greater than, the higher value of the two positions.
Is value ranking or salary? I don't know.. if it's ranking I get to change my Mueller deal.

It is ranking. The highest rank would refer to a players highest ranking. Papps is correct on his extension.
