Title: Cubs & Reds swap prospects
Post by: bridgestone on January 04, 2010, 03:29:52 PM

Cubs deal
OF Martinez, Fernando, $0.5m (P-n/a)
P Stevens, Jeff, $0.5m (P-n/a)

for Reds'
CI Gillaspie, Conor, $0.5m (P-n/a)
P Mazzaro, Vin, $0.5m (P-2012)
P Uehara, Koji, $5m (2010)

It is some extra salary and a loss of a top prospect and starting OF, but I will have about $50m in cap space with a starting rotation filled out entering FA with this deal.

The Reds agree, I will now add F-Mart to my stable of Mets prospects. Dare to dream.
