The Prince goes where he belongs, the Royals. What a perfect fit for a Prince.
CI Fielder, Prince, $9m (2010)
CI Rincon, Edinson, $0.5m (P-n/a)
for
CI Hosmer, Eric, $0.5m (P-n/a)
OF Weglarz, Nick, $0.5m (P-n/a)
P Lamb, John, $0.5m (P-n/a)
In this trade the Royals will re-sign Fielder at $22.5m (2015). I do this deal because I really plan on competing in 2012. Prince is only 26 and even though I am giving up possible 3 starters, and good ones, I have enough to cover them on my team by 2012. My only need will be OF with the departure of Nick Weglarz. Rincon is only a throw in because he was going to be dropped anyway by the Brewers. He will probably be dropped in the near future. Nice negotiating with you MIL.

Brewers confirm. We are sad to see Prince go, he has been a tremendous performer and is just entering the prime of his career - best of luck in Kansas City.

The 2nd roster spot I'll need to free up should come from the pending deal with Philly.

I feel like the Brewers could have gotten more but Fielder's price tag was too high for a team with Pujols on the payroll.

Big trade, surprised to see KC go this route.
