I know I have brought this up so many times but why not give the MILR players a try on Fantrax? Just amend the rules that if someone is caught playing a MILR player that hasnt been signed than they forfeit the week. I would think that is a big enough deterrent that people wouldnt risk that move.
It would just make things so much easier on so many levels. Everything from finding good players , to monitoring your MILR to see who is being called up and how many games played , to saving the commissioners from constantly having to remove invalid bids on players ha ha.
The other option could be make things easy, a player in the MILR can be freely inserted into the lineup and dropped down until they reach their 40gp. Then you dont have to police it and there is a payoff to having a strong MILR.

I like this idea and if nothing else does clean up the Free Agent player pool to better reflect who's actually available.
I also love the idea of Penalty for using MiLR without officially calling them up is forfeit matchup for offending week.
The penalty definitely will help keep help ppl respect the rule.
let's discuss. and if agreed to implement starting this off-season to prep rosters for the 2014-15 season.
Great idea Snugerud!
-
I'm all for it Snug. As long as teams know there's a heavy penalty they likely won't break the rules and slot minor leaguers into the MLR without officially promoting them.
-
any other opinions on this... I think it's a good way to keep all MiLR players filed under their parent clubs on fantrax. also if a team's caught red handed inserting MiLR players into their active line-up it's an automatic win for their match-up opponent for the week.
good deterrent would be in place.
good to keep Free Agent pool from being cluttered by MiLR players.
less invalid MiLR players posted as Free Agent bids
less admin down the line
easier Free Agent search on Fantrax... also 100% accurate to look-up
what's not to like from a management standpoint.
-
Maple Leaf management like the Idea and is all in favour of it.
-
I am in favor of this as well.
-
How to other leagues deal with MiLRs?
-
I say write the rule up so that even if it's discovered after the week has wrapped up the offending team still takes the loss. Make it retroactive.

Good point RE retroactive penalty to the week the infraction occurred.
More feedback guys. Post your thoughts.

I fully support the idea of uploading the minors on Fantrax and making/enforcing a penalty for using a minor league player without properly calling them up on here.
I think it makes the league better for everyone, and helps eliminate invalid FA bids, and makes it easier on the Commissioners.

Good stuff guys!
Keep the feedback coming.

Minor leaguers should have been left on Fantrax and this rule shouldn't have been changed when it was. Even if a milr player plays unless he's Crosby won't pile on the points within 40 games.
The new rule should definitely highlight the penalty for slipping a milr player into active service without a proper call up posted! I am all for this.

So if everyone's good with putting the players on Fantrax when will that happen? This yr or starting next yr?
-
Ottawa management agrees to place prospects onto Fantrax rosters. Should make life easier for everyone in the league from owners to commissioners.
-
Looks like its a landslide for the Yeahs!
Why not do this mid-season since it doesnt affect strategies in anyway(positions/scoring/cap, etc) and is only a league configuration change?
-
I think it'd be a good idea to implement that sometime in Dec'13... cleans up fantrax sooner than later.
Any objections ppl?

So it looks like we're add MiLR's to Fantrax in December.

I guess I'll add the MiLRs to Fantrax throughout the month of December and update the rules to reflect the penalty for using a MiLR player in an active lineup without an official promotion posting.
Good stuff everyone!
