C Castro, Jason, $0.5m (P-2013)
P Ceda, Jose, $0.5m (P-n/a)

for

RP Marmol, Carlos, $2.5m (2011)
CI Laird, Brandon, $0.5m (2012)
OF Kubel, Jason, $3.5m (2010) - RFA

I agree to this deal because it helps me obtain a very good young C for the future.  Castro provides adequate Power and good OBP skills.  I also gain some cap room as well by moving Marmol.  Kubel has been identified as an RFA, but the A's would not be able to be competitive in his bidding.

Kent, thanks for the dealings.  Confirm when you have the opportunity.

Astros find it hard to lose Castro in Catching bench strength but deal adds Kubel as OF strength, and addition of Marmol provides Bull Pen strength with an added prospect depth at CI, thanks Rob, good dealing with you..

Stros sign (Kubel in the trade sign him at $14.5m (2013), as #13 OF 2009, #76 2010)
