Title: Royals/Red Sox Trade, attempt 2
Post by: seanrmgallagher on October 03, 2013, 12:59:14 PM

Royals give:
Wil Myers, team control until 2018
2013 6th round pick

Red Sox give:
Josh Reddick, team control until 2016
Miguel Gonzalez, team control until 2017
Lance McCullers, minors
Jeremy Hazelbaker, minors
2013 3rd round pick

Hate losing Myers, but Gonzalez gives depth to my top-heavy rotation and Reddick is a servicable replacement. Also get to add good depth to my system.

:iatp: Glad to get Myers to replace Ellsbury, which means that's another position I don't have to fill by the FA market, I have the depth to make this deal at SP with the best top 3 pitchers in baseball and Doubront under team control. My mistake in the last deal was not examining Miguel Gonzalez, specifically, oh, his STATS, so with a better understanding of the players involved, I was able to make a better deal. I regret losing Reddick, but can't have it all, can we? Plus, the 6th rounder gives me some insurance against Myers suffering injury in the next year.

An excellent example of a good trade for both teams.  Approved.

I think the trade passes... It's been pending since the 3rd.
