Title: Rangers transaction to clear cap space

Here's another transaction to help get :NYR: team some cap space.

This time it's a small gamble to extend Elliott now as he could be ranked as low as 30th amongst Goalies based on 2012-13 stats but the difference in cost is a mere 0.4 ($1.9m contract versus $2.3m deal) so Brian Elliott will get upped now for a new 3yr deal:


Goalie: Brian Elliott, $3.3m (2013-2014) >>> highest rank 25th '11-12 >>> $2.3m (2013-2016)
+$1.0m cap savings
