Title: Bruins Trade For Depth
Post by: jackdaniels on September 11, 2013, 01:47:12 PM

To Bos
LW Blake Comeau, $1.0m (2013-2015)
LW Ryan Malone, $4.5m (2014-2015)
Defense Shane O'Brien, $0.7m (2013-2015)
Round 4 - 2013  :CHI-NHL: via :COL-NHL:

To Chi
C - Scott Laughton (2012: 1/20 - 5 Games)
RW Jordan Caron, $1.5m (2013-2014) Getting extension for 0.4 over 2yrs

We need some depth up front in Boston and Chicago wanted prospects! So we sent one of our top prospects to get wingers on the leftside where we're weak. Malone's contract is bigger than we like but we have room for it especially if he plays regularly on the PP in Tampa. Tough parting with Laughton but we need to backfill some of those gaps on our roster.

Quick trade talk in the chat window! Let's do it again sometime PPG!

Hawks agree to this trade.
Scott Laughton was the key player in this deal for us. He gives us another solid prospect for the future to go along with Wilson, Whitney, . Caron is a gamble that only costs us a roster spot. The players we're moving would've been insurance in Chicago since we've got some good firstline guys already.

Good quick negotiations man! :toast:

I think this trade helps both teams but I'll give the edge to :CHI-NHL: for moving Malone's cap hit.
