Cubs trade:
CI Alonso, Yonder, $1m (2012)
CI Kotchman, Casey, $5.5m (2013)
X-CI Kotchman, Casey, Cash Exchange on Contract, $-3m in 2011

Cardinals trade:
MI Gonzalez, Alex, $1m (2011)

We take on a bad contract in Casey Kotchman to take a chance on Yonder Alonso's potential.  Mike to confirm/

Cubbies accept.

Cubs save $2.5m this year and even more the next few years.  The loss of Alonso hurts the farm big time, but we needed a middle infielder after the Drew trade.  My cap space is prime for free agency.
