Title: Sharks + Panthers Trade

Florida is looking to move a goalie (now that Bobby is a starter again), shed salary and improve the quality of our MiLR during this offseason and are happy to partner-up with the Sharks to do so.


Going to :SJ: Sharks
Alex Pietrangelo, $6.8m (2015-2016)
Robin Lehner, $0.8m (2014-2015-EL)

Shipping to :FLO: Panthers
Round 1 - 2013 (SJ) 1st overall
Round 3 - 2013 (NJ via SJ)


We're trading an up and coming goalie in Lehner who will take over as the Sens starter in the near future as well as All-star dman Pietroangelo who is highly productive but carries a heavy contract which why we couldn't ask for last year's market value when the cap was higher.

I saw Florida's trade block post to deal one of their goalies and we need one soon to stay competitive. You can't compete in this league without a goalie and I knew it was only a matter of time before I could add one or two. Wasn't going to overpay for Pietrangelo so he's almost a throw in since we only had to give up a 3rd rounder. Sharks are going to be a strong team for years to come. :thumbsup:

I got no issue with this deal. It's just another cap for mega contract deal and everyone pays extra for goalies.

The sharks get some young goaltending talent, but give up the 1st overall to do so. Peitrangelo is a great d-man who has a bit of a price tag but the sharks can manage.
