Reds get

P Hughes, Phil, $3.5m (2012)
+3.5 mil from Yankees in 2011
OF Young, Delmon, $1m (2011)
P Narveson, Chris, $0.5m (P-n/a)

Nats get
P Anderson, Brett, $0.5m (P-2012)

Yanks get
SP Greinke, Zack, $9.5m (2012)
CI Rolen, Scott, $12m (2011)
RP Jansen, Kenley, $0.5m (P-n/a)

I do this because I get younger and cut a bunch of salary. I hate to see Anderson go since he is one of my favorites, but in the coming days this move will make a lot of sense to the future of the Reds. Yanks and Nats to confirm.

Nationals confirm.  Hopefully Anderson stays healthy long term, as he is capable of producing Greinke numbers.  Plus, I gain the cap space I lost in re-signing Chris Young.  Thanks Dan-o, Corey.

The yanks agree to this deal. We get a staff ace in greinke to fill the void left by cc. He brings a great contract. far cheaper than what pitches of equal talent will go for in FA or extensions this offseason. Jansen is good young talent. The yankees do add a chunk of salary. However Rolen's contract is only one year so its ok. Thanks dan and jake, always a pleasure
