NYI trade: Marian Gaborik
NJD trade: Torey Krug
Pure and simple I do this for cap space. Torey showed some promise at the end of last season and in the playoffs for the B's and I hope he can build on that.
NJD had tons of cap but no more roster space and 14 dmen. it makes sense.

Like my deal with Coyotes to move a defenseman we do this deal to fill a position where we need help by trading another defenseman. Krug will light the lamp enough to put a smile on Snugerud's face. I hope Marian can continue to be health to earn his pile of cash. Taking on 7.3 in cap burns a hole in our pocket but it could fill a big hole on our roster. Good stuff NYI.

Cap space is so valuable in this league. Gaborik is a stud, but he comes with a high price tag. Krug is a good young D man.
The Devils win this deal by a mile, but this deal is not detrimental to either team or the league, so I approve.

Looks like a clear win for NJ but then I remember Gaborik is made of glass (him, Havlat Souray, exNHLer Pascal Leclaire) and it's a wash.
