Just wanted to note that there's a couple other changes that coincide with the new extension rules:
- Players may no longer be extended during the season - extensions are only allowed during the Spring 'Extension Period' which is normally a 3 month period from when the NHL regular season ends in April until the entry draft is complete in June. The exact time-frame will be announced annually.
- The salary cap will increase by $8m to a total of $95m. This is to accommodate the increased cost of contracts with the addition of Blocked Shots. The cap will now be static and won't change from year to year.
-
Also to add... (I think I'm correct in saying this):
We should be using the newest Fantrax league to reference points, as it included Blocked Shots.
If people were using the previous Fantrax link (2019-2020 season), then it wouldn't include the BS category.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
