Quit posting/bidding..you only have 3 mil in cap space and I am sure you are out with your Brandon moss bid.

Am I not allowed to bid anymore? Do you have a problem? What rule says that just because I've bid on Brandon Moss, I can't bid on anyone else?

You have to have the cap space...you don't have more than 3 mil you can spend this year..read the rules

Yeah, but I'm bidding using PCs...don't they count as 0?

Also, can't I clear cap?

How does the bidding work? The way Cris explained it to me is that I bid an amount then I spread it out over however many years.

Below is from the contract rules.  If you make a $10m bid the contract can be $10m for 1 year, $5m for 2 years, or $3.4m for 3 years.  A 4 year contract must be at least $5.1m per year and a 5 year contract must be at least $10.1m per year.  You must have salary cap space to cover all bids made:

Contract Terms
Except for any contract inherited in 2013, all contracts must be no longer than five years.  Also, for a given salary, all contacts have term limits (max years contract can be per the salary) as provided below.

<= $1m, 2 years
$1.1m - $5m, 3 years
$5.1m - $10m, 4 years
> $10m, 5 years (the overall limit)

That's how I interpreted it. Thanks!

The only time it is different is when you are using the prospect contract.  Then the account bid above the prospect contact is a bonus paid from the cap all in the first year, whether they are placed in the majors or minors.  I hope I wasn't confusing earlier.  You don't have to bid the p contract and then it goes like Paul said in his post.

The rules do state that the winning bidder has 24 hours to clear space.   But that does not mean anyone should be bidding way beyond

So a guy goes 20 mil over his cap and doesn't clear the space in 24 hours..meanwhile a GM has paced bids on other players...now the second GM is awarded said player but he now doesn't have the cap space due to his other bids...seems a tad bit stupid...just my thoughts...could be asking for trouble if a GM stays off his ritalin and needs to create cap space for 20 players...just my thoughts

I think it's stupid that other teams are well over the cap. The cap should be enforced at like 1 week before Opening Day or something.

Cap is enforced at all times.

Cap is enforced at all times.

I understand, but it should only be enforced at the start of the season. TBH, it makes more sense that way, but whatever.
