Post by: Thecliff on March 07, 2020, 10:12:32 PM
Propose change effective July 2nd when BONUS pools reset:

"Players under the age of 23, with no MLB experience, must be signed to a prospect contract."

If an owner wants to be dumb enough to do this, I say we let them. It's a waste of money and roster spot. Not to mention, unless said player is released back in FA (as a prospect) he will never be eligible for a prospect contract and extension.

But it contradicts the rule about a player needing to have MLB experience to be on the 40 man roster.  Something needs to change.  Do you have a better idea?

Create a stipulation. MLB contract trumps no mlb experience rule
