I can understand this rule during the season, but I don’t understand it when we’re not playing games.

If it were the FA period you can post a catcher but we aren't in FA.

Outside of that rosters must be made to stay legal at all times.
Why?
It's a safeguard for the franchise. That each franchise is able to field a team when games count regardless of GM activity or even team ownership.

Even in the off-season.

I try explaining. It's a very easy fix. Easier to fix than to question but I don't mind being questioned or answering any question.

I'm an open book. PM me or post, either way is good.

That’s my thing exactly. I don’t have any issue with the rule If the league was completely open, but without Free Agency open, my only means of acquiring a catcher that I ultimately don’t really want is through trade. I’m just saying that the rule should be postponed until free agency opens.

I appreciate your opinion, and all opinions.
I think it's easy enough to fix.

Regardless it's my belief that it's not easy for people to look outside personal opinions or personal interests.

For example without a rule like this what's stopping you from trading every player eligible for Mlb? Completely stripping the team.

Then having a life changing event that prevents you having time to participate in fantasy anymore. Now the league before it gets started has a team that cannot even field a legal roster and it's left to me to find an owner to try and take over that mess.

The rule is in place for the safety of the league. Regardless of your opinions and with all do respect it's not going to change. There is no further need for discussion on the matter.

Option 1 sit and do nothing till FA starts. That's fine.
Option 2 make a quick trade with a team like Brian's Rays who have 4 eligible catchers. That's fine.
Option 3 does not exist.
