What's your best guess?

Bettman said targeting January 1, 2021.

I say they drop the puck to start the regular season on January 18, 2021.
It should be January 11th but there will be positive COVID tests early on during training camp leading to slowdown/shutdowns for several days/wks in December.

That's my guess.

I follow that logic; good as guess as I would have.

I am noticing this looks like an A B conversation so I’m going to C my way out. So sorry to interrupt

Seems the talks between NHL and NHLPA have been holding things up for the hockey world.
I'm guessing the PA wants to get the NHL to give players an opt out of play while the NHL probably doesn't want to allow it.

The NBA has an interesting setup but they only have 1 Canadian team to contend with. The NHL will have a tough time getting things started in January if they don't come to an agreement with the PA by mid-December.

Agreed; let’s hope they reach agreement quickly for the fans.

NHL appears to be aiming for mid-January start now. Not hard to believe given the slow pace of talks with the NHLPA.

I'm personally looking forward to the WJC at this point more so than the start of the NHL which seems to tied up in union vs owner and owner vs owner haggling.

WJC worth keeping an eye on with the COVID mess taking shape.

FNHL looks to the NHL for a tentative start date of Jan 13, 2020 but as you can all sense, that date will likely get pushed back. Heads up, get ready for a shotgun start.

56 game NHL regular season confirmed.

January 13th is the target start date!

Time to dust off those rosters and fine tune your franchise for the upcoming FNHL season! :toast:

Going to be interesting with the season ending May 8th, so figuring maybe 30 game season ( guess ) for us. This will get them (NHL) back on schedule barring any issues.
