Title: Scheduled GM Movement
Post by: Colby on September 14, 2010, 11:00:46 AM
We will be having three existing GMs take up positions with new franchises once both of the season has concluded for both their current team and new team.

:DET: -> :BOS:
Jeff Wren, who has done an amazing job for the Tigers this year will be taking his services to another high payroll team.  The Boston Red Sox have decided to hire him.  Wren is the Red Sox third GM since 2008.

:SF: -> :PHI:
Christopher Pappalardo, son of Philadelphia, is leaving his amazing pitching staff in San Francisco to take on his favorite team.  This is certainly a vertical move for the GM who has done a fair job in San Francisco.  He will be taking over a Phillies team with practically no farm but with another shot at the World Series even after this season.

:FL: -> :DET:
Hank Chang knows how to run a franchise in this league despite leading the Marlins to one of the worst records in the league after they made the playoffs in 2009.  He has much more money to work with in Detroit than he had with an ownership group in Miami that watched every nickel he tried to spend.

This leaves openings with the Marlins and Giants.  The Commissioner has agreed in principal with two new GMs.  An extended probation period will be used with these GMs where the league's front office will have to approve any drops they make during the draft.

Ernesto Quiroz (Flash) will be taking over the Giants front office.  He has given me perhaps the best reasons to be a GM in this league.  He has played in franchise leagues before and has years of fantasy baseball experience.  He has responded to several PMs over the past couple weeks and has been a lifelong Giants fan for 50 years.

Samuel Molina (molinator) will be taking over the Marlins front office.  He is a fan of Florida teams, is related to another GM in the league (Omar :ARZ:), and has been around ProFSL for some time.

Surely a couple other positions are due to open up over the winter.  Existing GMs have a chance to take over new jobs if they like.  I am confident that these GM moves will further improve this league.

Welcome to the league Ernesto and Samuel.  FYI, the NL Central is the best division in this league.

The five GMs moving around will now be drafting for their new team.  That means that the current GMs of the Tigers, Marlins, and Giants will not be drafting for their current/old teams.  This simplifies everything and keeps one GM per team in the draft.  Each of you will be officially hired once the Tigers and/or Phillies are out of the playoffs.

Ernesto and Chris have officially stepped into the front offices of the Giants and Phillies, respectively.
