The Astros will buyout Knebel on 2019 books before we rollover to the 2020 season. I believe with my other buyouts, I created enough cap to compete this move.
RP Knebel, Corey, $4m (2023)
2019: $3M
2020: $2M
2021: $1M
2022: $1M
2023: $1M
Total 2019 Cap Hit: $8M

You finished the season with $3.5m cap.
A Contract Buyout requires the total to be multiplied by 1.1% and rounded up to the nearest $0.5m. The Buyout amount you listed for Knebel adds up to $8.0m, but you didn't multiply it by 1.1%. So, $8.0m x 1.1% = $9.0m (~$8.8m).
With Knebel's contract amount of $4.0m + $3.5m (available cap) = $7.5m, which leaves you $1.5m short. So, the Contract Buyout will be divided up as follows:
2019 = $7.5m
2020 = $1.5m

Okay, thanks. I wasn't sure how much I had left, but I knew I has some. Carrying over only $1.5M works for me.
