Phillies trade:
SP Mikolas, Mike, $1.5m (2020)
X-Mikolas, Mike, Cash Exchange, $1.0m in 2020

Giants trade:
CI-MI Cabrera, Asdrubal, $0.5m (2021)
SP Ashby, Aaron, $0.5m (P-n/a)

Philly moves on from Mikolas as we were on the fence on resigning him. I get more infield depth with Cabrera and a decent spec in Ashby.

Even though Mike Mikolas is out for the season, this trade gives the Giants a proven SP.  He is projected to return at the start of the 2021 season at full strength, but like all such scenarios, there is some risk.  But given the Giants pitching corps, it’s a risk worth taking.
