Colorado Rockies History :COL:

2019:   1st in NL West (110-52)
The :COL: closed the regular season with a great rush and was able to win the NL West by a single game.  This enabled them to have a 1st round bye in the playoffs as the #3 seed.  In the NLDS, the :COL: met up with the :MIL:, and unfortunately, ran into a buzz saw.  The :COL: can certainly point to 2019 as a season of success and they have some high quality players to meet the challenges of the 2020 season.

2018:   1st in NL West (125-37)
The :COL: hired a new GM in Paul S. and the franchise experienced a great turnaround and zoomed to the top of the NL West.  The :COL: defeated the :CHC: in the NLDS, but lost to the :PHI:, the eventual 2018 FGM Champion in the NLCS.  Paul S. did an amazing job adding free agents throughout the season and negotiating some key trades.  The future looks bright for the :COL:.

2017:   4th in NL West (57-105)
The :COL: did little to improve themselves during the off-season, and their SPs and RPs could not mask the deficiencies throughout the :COL: everyday lineup.  The resident GM has turned in his resignation for the upcoming season, so 2018 will find a new GM in the :COL: front office.

2016:   4th in NL West (50-107)
The :COL: regressed during the 2016 campaign.  Although it had a decent pitching corp, itís everyday lineup could not produce enough to remain competitive.

2015:   2nd in NL West (58-32)

2014:   2nd in NL West (94-47)

2013:   2nd in NL West (76-65)

2012:   3rd in NL West (72-90)
After a lull of inactivity managing the front office, Reid was fired by Colorado.  The Rockies then hired the well known Eric to be the new GM.  The team was 12-20 at the time of hiring.  Despite over a year of waiting, Eric resigned as the team slipped to 27-45.  He could not commit himself to the franchise anymore.  In what was turning to be a disaster of a season, the Rockies hired their third GM on June 6th by bringing on Kris (speedster).

The new GM wanted to keep this team in the hunt, but with the trade deadline looming and the team starting in a big hole, he decided to sell players.  However, Kris was committed to the core of the team.  Despite many big offers, Ryan Zimmerman, Troy Tulowitzki, Jay Bruce, and Dustin Pedroia all remained Rockies.  Colorado had a 45-45 record under speedster, held its core, made some deals, and built something for the 2013 season.

2011: 2nd in NL West (96-66)
The Rockies were a team to beat in the first two months of the season thanks to Howe's allstar squad.  He then packed it up for rival Los Angeles :LAD:.  Reid took over the contending Rockies one week later.  Colorado struggled for a couple weeks and was unable to regain its presence in the standings.  The Rockies finished as the 5th best team in the NL, 3 games back in the NL Wildcard race.

2010: 4th in NL West (76-86)
Call him a celebrity recruiter because GM Howe Cheng brings in star power.  In early 2010, he pulled off deals that enabled David Wright, Justin Upton, Matt Wieters, and Dan Haren all to come to Colorado without Troy Tulowitzki leaving.  Much of the supporting cast and other stars such as Hawpe, Helton, and the pitching staff went out the door though.  The team was built on offense with barely any pitching which crushed the high expectations that many saw for the Rockies in 2010.  However, with a great farm and money to spend, the team is destined to compete in 2011.

2009: 2nd in NL West (90-72)
The Rockies finished one game out (extrapolated) from the Dodgers and missed the playoffs.  This caused ownership to fire the GM for being so complacent with a team in the hunt.

Management

Paul S. (Paul S.) [1/15/18 - Present]
Art S.  (hockeygoon33) [1/31/17 - 12-15-18]

Eric (Eric) [4/30/12 - 5/27/12]
Reid (fantasyguru) [6/8/11 - 4/24/12]
Howe (h4cheng) [10/29/09 - 6/1/11]

  • indiansnation: I know im not going to playoffs this yr. My team isnt ready yet but ill tell u what come 2021 ill have money to add on to my team and you know what yea i traded my draft picks away in 2021 but from know on i wont even do that unless i get a better offer.nflc changed me in what i do in any league from know on if trade diesnt benefit me i wont make it.
  • indiansnation: Good luck with your team daddy i hope u do good this yr but come 2021 u are going to have to work hard to fill a 53 man roster
    Today at 04:35:45 AM
  • Daddy: Extending Ingram until he is 32 and running 2 strip clubs and a liquor store full time is a stroke of genius. Should get you that extra fire power needed to win 2 games.
  • Daddy: Asking me for $2.45 league fees when I've got well over 12 work hours on fantrax inputting players and schedules is pretty insulting.
  • indiansnation: like i said what ever daddy. Your comment does matter to me
    Today at 04:38:54 AM
  • Daddy: But...my teams fees will get taken care of.
  • Daddy: Everything I've done "for free" not withstanding.
  • indiansnation: Every one pays their fees im tired of covering fees. So come next yr u will cover all fees in war then.
  • indiansnation: Then dont pay it and u wont be in nflc after oct 1st.
  • indiansnation: Its all up to u. Your a grown adult u pay it u stay u dont u dont play thats all
    Today at 04:41:59 AM
  • indiansnation: I dont know what your problem is tonight but u need to chill out. We do this for fun and u are pussed off at the world for some reason.
  • Daddy: Really
  • Daddy: There has been one vetoed trade in Countdown. I started to pull them all and put them on the board and change my votes on those I thought was unequal.
  • Daddy: Then I realized the moral compass started with someone who in plain daylight is cheating the league himself. Purposely not setting his lineup or maximizing it in an attempt to gain better draft assets. Stealing higher picks than he warrants. Yeah. That guy vetoes.
  • Daddy: If you had made that same trade with Billy's Redskins it doesnt get vetoed.
  • Daddy: Want proof? There is 2 years worth of it. I'm tired. I'm done. I will say that maybe look at teams that do not make the playoffs going into a lottery to determine draft order. Nobody should be incentivized to lose on purpose. Every team should be putting its best foot forward.
  • Daddy: It sucks when I'm right. Because I got a gift of making you feel dumb for being so wrong. The evidence is all saved right here on profsl. 7 years of it.
  • Daddy: Our deal shouldn't have gotten vetoed. If it deserves to be, then all but 2 of your trades also deserved to be. And....nobody should ever make a deal and back out of it because of what people think or intimidation. You make a deal. You honor it.
  • Daddy: That's how it should be. When it's flakey or inconsistent. That's what takes the "fun" out of it. Be real.
  • Harman230: Damn didnt know i was signing up for real husbands of hollywood
    Today at 07:18:28 AM

  • Harman230: heres a website that fairly evaluates trades
    Today at 07:21:03 AM
  • Harman230: maybe it could be of use for people trying to get the worth of their player
