Read was injured on a hit by Chris Kunitz in Wednesday nights game against Pittsburgh. Philly GM Paul Holmgren announced last night that Read will miss six weeks with torn rib cage muscles. Read leads the Flyers with seven goals.

Philly has been marred with injuries to their top forwards this year losing Scott Hartnell and Danny Briere. Briere is already back in the lineup and Hartnell could be back within a couple weeks.

Yeah this is a pretty big blow, especially with Hartnell still out. He has really been progressing into one of the better players with the stick on his puck. Hopefully he gets well soon, he is fun to watch
