MIA/TEX (McDonald, Young, Hughes, Porcello, Jay)
« on: January 25, 2013, 02:04:56 PM »
Marlins send:

SP - James McDonald $2,000,000 (4th year of PC)
SP - Phil Hughes $6,000,000 (6th year of PC)
OF - Chris Young $5,600,000 (2013)
        and $1,000,0000

in exchange for

SP - Rick Porcello $2,000,000 (4th year of PC)
OF - Jon Jay $425,000 (2nd year of PC)
3B - Carlos Sanchez{from Myrtle Beach pelicans}
Johnson, Brian, LHP from Florida

I'm one of the last remaining hold outs on Porcello, and he just turned 24 last month so he still has the ability to improve in my eyes. He will never be what people once thought but we've seen his floor and it's not bad at all. I really like Jon Jay in CF and they can't all be Josh Hamiltons, but his high contact rate and low strike rate make him a way better producer then Young and he still has 4 years of affordability before i need to make a decision on paying him $6 million dollars. Carlos Sanchez might be one of the few bright spots in Chicago's farm system, and although he lacks the big pop every one is in search of his .323 avg, .388 OBP and 26 steals all the way from A+ to AAA ball at age 20 is very promising. And let's face it Beckham really isn't a "definite" at 2nd base and can be replaced and shipped to the outfield as 4th outfielder. Adding the Boston Red Sox first round selection from last years draft just makes me giddy as a school girl. Thanks for the talks Sky. Plus the $10,000,000 in cap space is huge.

Rangers agree!

We fell we improved our rotation with McDonald and Hughes as we continue to improve our ball club in exchange for a few prospects that are far from helping out MLB roster.

    • JMAC: its not.the big bumps it is the marginal guys who teams truly want at lower prices then schmuck make a 200k raise late after neve4 bidding at all, its a mockery
      Today at 07:59:51 PM
    • OUDAN: Just not a vet move but paybacks will help
      Today at 08:00:14 PM
    • Ace: this is @ JMAC but also others: i find it disturbing that some people attempt to bully others into not bidding on their players and then make late bids themselves
      Today at 08:00:20 PM
    • Alex87878: This is a ridiculous topic IMO
      Today at 08:01:33 PM
    • Scalious: So you are not allowed to look for value?
    • Ace: 100 mins, 600k raise on a 6.6m player, just traded an OF, member that does a lot for the site, but sure let's bring out the usual 'rookie move' bs
      Today at 08:02:27 PM
    • Ace: would also add, no previous form, prior explanation in chat, 6 pages of fa to deal with, but sure, i'm the devil incarnate
      Today at 08:03:16 PM
    • OUDAN: No matter what u do around here tht doesn't matter. For instance Corey I KNOW has wanted guys close to closing out but won't bid out of respect.
    • OUDAN: I just didn't expect it from who it came from
      Today at 08:04:04 PM
    • OUDAN: Already bid back up on said player and no rebid looks like a bump to me
      Today at 08:04:26 PM
    • Ace: i just dealt an OF and thought Jay was good value
      Today at 08:05:26 PM
    • OUDAN: Enjoy your night Ace you can't seem to see it
      Today at 08:05:59 PM
    • Alex87878: Just let it go Ace. Everyone will insult you until they find that they need to do it themselves
      Today at 08:06:34 PM
    • Scalious: Wow..
    • Ace: i may re-bid, give me a chance to see what other OF are available; 100 mins ffs and i bid without checking who else was available so as not to run clock too low
      Today at 08:06:59 PM
    • OUDAN: Lol
    • OUDAN: U should wait and see what happens with your guys close to closing out
      Today at 08:08:15 PM
    • Alex87878: Yesterday i had people PMing and insulting me, and then other PMs from people saying that they purposely upped my bid, and apologized for putting me in the situation where I needed to then go and make last second decisions
      Today at 08:08:17 PM
    • Ace: some poor saps get bullied into not bidding; that's why i don't like chat tantrums
      Today at 08:08:54 PM
    • Alex87878: its a crazy FA, its going to happen. Its happend to me multiple times: literally upped by .1 within hours of being won. I have not said a word about it
      Today at 08:09:08 PM
    • Ace: pretty obviously one person with poor etiquette here
      Today at 08:09:32 PM
    • Scalious: Ok.. thats it. STFU sooner
      Today at 08:09:36 PM
    • OUDAN: Lol yeah it's me
    • Alex87878: I believe their is a time to be courteous, and then there is also a time where there are 6 pages of FA, you just got out of work, etc, and you need to make a last secon choice. It goes both ways. It happens. its nothing to get worked up about
      Today at 08:10:46 PM
    • OUDAN: I apologize for being upset about someone doing something like that
      Today at 08:11:05 PM
    • OUDAN: Guess you can do what u want just know that it goes both ways
      Today at 08:12:05 PM
    • Alex87878: I would assume everyone knows the implications of making certain decisions, its part of the risk of playing the FA game
      Today at 08:13:07 PM
    • Ace: either way i apologised already and explained; do whatcha gonna do
      Today at 08:13:27 PM
    • Scalious: Really..if you are corey are holding back to be "nice"...don't.. at least with my players. I don't care if you bid at the last second
      Today at 08:13:29 PM
    • OUDAN: I hate it so much FA that is
      Today at 08:13:43 PM
    • Ace: no hard feelings on my end; just try to keep personal attacks out of chat
      Today at 08:14:01 PM
    • Calvin: if everyone complains, then the clocks should be 23 hours, lol
      Today at 08:14:06 PM
    • Calvin: and then people would complain about 22nd hour bids
      Today at 08:14:21 PM
    • Calvin: it happens
    • OUDAN: Was no personal attack just calling the BooYah! when I see it
      Today at 08:14:29 PM
    • Scalious: Exactly Calvin..
    • OUDAN: Look at any veteran member and they won't do it
      Today at 08:14:40 PM
    • Calvin: it's always disappointing as the person holding the almost complete bid, but rules are rules and you play by em
      Today at 08:14:47 PM
    • Alex87878: try to keep personal attacks out in general. haha we are all here to have fun and try and win arent we?
    • Calvin: haha yes
    • Alex87878: Im proposing a new rule, you must hold a winning bid for 300 hours, but people have to stop placing bids at 290 hours. That way you know 10 hours in advance that you wont get re-bid on
      Today at 08:17:19 PM
    • Alex87878: I kinda like it
    • Calvin: alex any thoughts in Quick Pitch
      Today at 08:18:21 PM
    • Calvin: tyson ross available?
    • Alex87878: on trades and stuff? really havnt payed much attention lately. Haha as you can see I am very occupied by this BTL bidding
      Today at 08:19:53 PM
    • Alex87878: Since we decide to put no cap on Starts or IP, I have made the decision to hold onto each and every starter I can get my hands on
      Today at 08:20:29 PM
    • Alex87878: So really no SP is available unless recieving 1-2 others in return... haha
      Today at 08:21:01 PM
    • Jonathan: I am in a few leagues with Ace and he is a bid napper. I don't have issues with it though, as not everybody can be here 24/7 making bids, I only get irritated when it is done intentionally.
    • Alex87878: haha lets not start this argument again
      Today at 08:25:26 PM
    • Ace: erm we only share two other leagues jonathan and there's pretty much no bidding in franchise nba
