Miami Marlins begin their reconstructive surgery with a bang by sending:

SP - Stephen Strasburg $450,000 (3rd year of PC)
2B - Jose Altuve $425,000 (2nd year of PC)
SS - Jed Lowrie $4,000,000 (5th year of PC)
P - Heath Hembree

in exchange for

SP - Martin Perez $400,000 (1st year of PC)
OF - Logan Morrison $450,000 (3rd year of PC)
SS - Jurickson Profar
C - Jorge Alfaro
SS - Rougned Odor

It's great to have three aces on your staff, but I need to add organizational depth. I've created a hole at 2nd but filled a need at 1st. I still think Logan is a big masher and he has 4 years to prove me right. Martin Perez will get every opportunity to make Texas's rotation and although we've all known about him for a while, this would be his junior year in college and still shows a ton of potential. I believe that Odor and Alfaro are about as good of talent that you can find at their age but only time will tell. And Profar is a generational type of middle infielder. Good back and forth Corey.

giant accept.

This deal fills our holes at ss and mi. It gives us a top of the line starting pitcher as well.

I dont like odor as a fantasy played and see lomo moving to 1B given his array of knee issues and the depth of the marlins OF.

Thanks for talks Matt.
