TB/MIA Trade
« on: January 09, 2013, 12:35:46 AM »
:TB: Sends:
OF Upton, Justin, $8.5m (2015)
SP Miller, Shelby, $0.3m (P-n/a)
MI Hamilton, Billy, $0.3m (P-n/a)
SP Blackburn, Clayton, $0.3m (P-n/a)

:MIA-MLB: Sends:
OF Fowler, Dexter, $6.3m (2017)
SP Bumgarner, Madison, $6.8m (2017)
OF Yelich, Christian, $0.3m (P-n/a)
MI Perio, Noah, $0.3m (P-n/a)

:TB: Wow where do I start with this one.  My goal in contacting JMAC was to acquire Yelich.  Well I did that.  And in the mean time I also acquired a top young SP signed reasonably for years to come and a OF in Fowler who I think fits well in the MB format.

This trade was the creation of alot of discussion and misunderstanding but in the end I think both JMAC and myself constructed a deal that we both really like.

Nice finally trading with you JMAC, you are a gentleman and a baseball scholar.  GL this year in the NL.

First off obviously this cannot be officially done til Corey gives final approval on OAK/TB deal, which seems only a formality!!!!

This was a tough one for me, but alas my love for J UP took over and I made the deal. I had thought I had Hamilton from OAK and obviously did not, so went to TB to try to secure him for my future in here. I lose out in production in the immediate future as Upton and Fowler are close to even, and Bum is clearly better than Miller is at this time, but I hope Upton reverts back to top 20 overall form and Miller does what everyone hopes he will do , then I will come out ok here. Yelich for Hamilton is a preference swap as Yelich has more polish and is a top flight defender but if Hamilton can stick at MI for a bit he will be very productive with his speed. I feel like I upgrade pretty well with Blackburn over Perio though, which for me is the justification in the bum for miller portion I lose on.

Overall its a pretty big deal with ridiculously good talent going both ways. Glad we are in different leagues so it cannot come back to bite us too badly , one way or the other :)

Thanks for the enjoying trade talks ;)

I am in awe of this deal.  Not sure I've see a deal with so many nice names.  Seems fairly even as well, so I see no reason to be a negative nancy.
