Angels / Royals Trade
« on: January 07, 2013, 01:14:47 AM »
Royals send

CI Lind, Adam,    $4.5m  (2013)  $3.0m/3 extension before June1$2.3m/3?

Angels send

RP Walden, Jordan, $0.4m  (P-2014)
MI Amarista, Alexi, $0.3m (P-2015)

After trading away Cuddyer. We needed a CI and Lind fit the bill. And if he can re-establish himself again. The options on him will be picked up on the cheap.
Angels continue to turn over our roster.

Need Royals to confirm.

Royals confirm.  Walden gives us a bullpen replacement for Aroldis Chapman who will apparentlty be in the Reds starting rotation this season.  Amarista will be a young backup MI.  We give up Lind who is a big question mark.

  • RyanJames5: Problem with that OF is no left fielder, and Beltran can't hold up a whole season in the OF. So he has to DH a fair amount of the time. So either McCann or Gattis sits then.

  • RyanJames5: And all of that is assume Reed somehow doesn't come to spring training with something to prove. Which would shift Gurriel to 3rd, Bregman to left and then you definitely have 2 of Beltran, McCann and Gattis on the bench.
