CIN/PHI (Dunn, Desmond, Fister, Donaldson)
« on: December 31, 2012, 06:57:04 PM »
Phillies send
1B/3B - Adam Dunn $14M (2014)
2B/SS - Ian Desmond $2M (4th year of PC)
to Cincinnati

for
SP - Doug Fister $2M (4th year of PC)
3B - Josh Donaldson $425k (2nd year of PC)

Phillies make the deal to free up Cap Space
Fistert will help the pitching staff and I think Donaldson might hit
never been a fan of Dunn

Reds to confirm

thanks Jon

:CIN: confirms.

Hate losing Fister because we believe with his low walk and hr totals he will be big in this style league.  But we could not resist getting a quality MI in return.

Thanks for the easy talks bap9

  • Scalious: oh? how much do you think stanton is worth given contract?
  • pandoval172: I'd take 6 years of Sano over one year of Stanton, easy
    Today at 05:44:06 PM
  • pandoval172: To me that's the single most valuable piece in the deal. Then Franco, McCullers, Mazara, and one year of Stanton all roughly equal to me
    Today at 05:45:26 PM
  • kylerap: Value of Y6 guys are constantly underrated when you factor in HT signing in free agency
    Today at 05:45:47 PM
  • pandoval172: Yeah, although in Stantons case wouldn't you want to give him the full 5 years anyway?
  • Jonathan: Upton had no value in final year.
  • pandoval172: Regardless, I can't imagine him going for less than $20m/yr. I'd still take 6 arb years of Sano as the greater value.
  • Jonathan: HT is only bad if you cant stick your head out and match bids. Ie you're broke
    Today at 06:00:23 PM
  • Jonathan: Phillies were about to get hit hard too, with Cespedes and Bautista both HT players. Imagine no GM  :P
    Today at 06:07:25 PM
  • Tarheels55: Jonathan u still in ABL?
  • Scalious: I'm not seeing stanton sano...I'm seeing franco/sano..with sano being the upgrade
    Today at 06:10:43 PM
  • Scalious: no one has been willing to pony up that 1st round..so no is bidding above 20 last 2 FA.. Longoria has been the only type A for what will be 3 years..unless one of the OF this year breaks it
    Today at 06:18:10 PM
  • cheesesteak: Jonathan made FA bids in ABL yesterday
    Today at 06:19:49 PM
  • kylerap: Kershaw didn't even got over 20m in league that favors SP
    Today at 06:25:04 PM
  • pandoval172: Ok well you guys know
  • pandoval172: More than me about market values in this league.
  • pandoval172: But at least no one can argue there is major value going both ways in that deal. Can't say same for some others.
