After collapse this season, Bears fire Lovie Smith after 9 years
« on: December 31, 2012, 01:10:02 PM »
The Chicago Bears were atop the NFC just six weeks ago.  Now, they have missed the playoffs and have fired their head coach, Lovie Smith after being with the team for nine years.  Suprised?
"They read their sports pages, know their statistics and either root like hell or boo our butts off. I love it. Give me vocal fans, pro or con, over the tourist types who show up in Houston or Montreal and just sit there." —Mike Schmidt, Hall of Fame third baseman for the Philadelphia Phillies :PHI:

Yea, who's going to hire him? Phila or SD?

I don't see Smith going to Buffalo, even though they would love to have him, I could see Ried going to SD, imagine what he would do for Rivers career!

He would probably end his career.

McNabb sucked after leaving Reid, Reid turned Kevin Kolb into top trade bait, and Reid turned Vick into a MVP candidate out of prison.  This year every player on that team let Reid down, Vick and the OLine should be embarrassed, Reid also lost his son so he wasn't the same.  I think he needs a year off, but if he doesn't I think he'd turn Rivers into the pro bowler he should be.

How was Vick in 2011? Vick did good for 1 year out of 3 as a starter and got worse with every start. McNabb made Reid look a lot better than he was. He never turned the ball over and had no help until 2004, and not very much thereafter. The defense is what made them so good record wise and McNabb not turning the ball over. Whoever has Reid as HC, expect to pass about 85% of the time.

Lets be honest Vick isn't a hard worker and solely relies on his talent, It's not Reid's fault Vick doesn't study film 12 hrs a day, the one year Vick tried he was amazing. Reid or any other coach needs a QB that is in the film room, but once Reid finds a McNabb he turns a average QB to ProBowler.  The only reason Reid hasn't won a SB is because McNabb couldn't run a two minute drill.  I'm not saying Reid is BB but he's a wicked decent coach in a league full a inapt coaches.  I'd rather have Reid then Cower, Cower didn't win anything until Big Ben and everybody loves him.

I couldn't be happier to see him go. I think no way Chargers are interested. I would like to see him go to Arizona and Make Fitz relevant again.

It was defiantly his time to go in Philly! I would love to see Fitz get traded to the Pats! What numbers would he put up with Brady?
