According to Forbes, 13 teams lost money last season. This includes San Jose and Washington, two teams that are always close to the cap ceiling and competing for the cup... I think that is proof enough that something needs to change.

What do you think about revenue sharing in the NHL?

Seems the leafs, Ranger, Habs are basically paying for Suter and Parise to play for Minnesota.

Something needs to change with that.  A team losing money spends 200M,  Their team is barely worth more than the 2 players they just signed.

The NHL overreached it self.

  • cjbeckel: Scals and JP, even though the Matt Cain trade says it was fantraxed he still is not on my Fantrax roster
    May 24, 2016, 12:00:30 PM
  • Jpsprague10: My mistake Cj. I honestly thought it haf been processed. Been doing this from an ancient phone for a little while. Such a pain, but i'm trying lol
    May 24, 2016, 03:30:53 PM
  • cjbeckel: No problem JP...the work you guys put into the league is much appreciated
    May 24, 2016, 04:56:25 PM
  • Jonathan: That Shelby Miller trade is looking good, unless it isn't
    May 24, 2016, 09:53:47 PM
  • Scalious: Espically with both Pollock and Peralta on the shelf. If they only had a capable CFer..
    May 24, 2016, 10:13:16 PM
  • Scalious: Granted. Ender isn't hitting, but he still brings the glovework during slumps
    May 24, 2016, 10:15:51 PM
  • Jonathan: Hellickson has era under 4
    May 24, 2016, 10:16:53 PM
  • Jonathan: Could be dealt at anytime
    May 24, 2016, 10:28:01 PM
  • pandoval172: it'll be interesting to compare over time which was worse, the miller trade or the giles trade
    May 24, 2016, 10:41:24 PM
  • Jonathan: Miller is off to a rough start, to say the least. over 7 era and as many walks as K's
    May 24, 2016, 11:31:09 PM
  • Jonathan: His fastball is down a good 2 mph from this time last year. That sure has hurt.
    May 25, 2016, 12:51:12 AM
  • Jonathan: We are one Thunder win and two Raptors wins away from NBA's doomsday Finals matchup of Toronto vs. Oklahoma City.
    May 25, 2016, 02:47:29 AM
  • cjbeckel: Scals and JP...something might be wtong with Fantrax because Matt Cain is still on Jonathan's roster, not mine.
    May 25, 2016, 03:49:36 AM
  • Jonathan: He doesn't want to leave lol
    May 25, 2016, 08:06:38 AM
  • snugerud: go Raps
    May 25, 2016, 12:12:03 PM
  • Scalious: Ok...Hopefully he stays put. You must be scaring him off
    May 25, 2016, 06:02:25 PM
  • Jonathan: Phantom injury for Shelby, I love it. Send him to the minors for his broken fingernail, that is clearly the problem haha
    May 26, 2016, 02:34:24 PM
  • Jonathan: Problem is bad mechanics, loss of velocity in fastball (all the way down to 91.5) and he isn't that good to begin with.
    May 26, 2016, 02:49:05 PM
  • Jonathan: Olivera gets 82 games  :judge:
    May 26, 2016, 06:49:18 PM
  • Jonathan: Good job MLB.
    May 26, 2016, 06:50:25 PM
  • chrisetc21: wow, that's surprising
    May 26, 2016, 07:22:16 PM
  • chrisetc21: Dodgers still laughing about that trade
    May 26, 2016, 07:23:20 PM
  • Jonathan: Peraza and wood. Funny how quickly some of these trades are looking bad.
    May 26, 2016, 08:03:10 PM
  • Jonathan: Dodgers did a great job flipping peraza too
    May 26, 2016, 08:04:08 PM
  • Jonathan: JBJ hitting streak over, unless they somehow bat around in the 9th
    May 26, 2016, 10:51:45 PM
  • pandoval172: the thing is, we knew those trades were bad from the start
    Yesterday at 05:38:31 PM
  • pandoval172: just had no idea how bad, how fast

  • Jonathan: Julio Urias is said to be teenage pitching prodigy. From years of watching Dodgers my advice is to hope for best, expect worst.
  • Scalious: talking about a 19 year old with a small frame and never pitched more than 90 Pitches a game or much more than 80 innings in a year. Don't know how much you can expect from this and next year other than hope he doesn't get hurt
    Yesterday at 06:11:01 PM
  • Scalious: He'll be fun to watch in what limited innings we see him id think
    Yesterday at 06:11:37 PM
  • Jonathan: De Leon should be primed to have a significant role this year. He has only pitched 5 innings this year, so far.
  • Jonathan: They built him up to almost 120 last year.

  • Jonathan: Send me Robles
  • Scalious: Ha. I remember giving him a MLB contract
    Yesterday at 07:05:30 PM
  • Scalious: Mostly as a defensive move to keep him out of JPs hands
    Yesterday at 07:05:57 PM
  • Jonathan: Yeah, his value would be sky high if he had control and in minors. Not so much on a MLB deal.
  • Jonathan: I tend to leave no money for latter on in year. I am in same boat this year. That is why I recently bid up a bunch of guys scoring points over waiting for j2 guys. I know teams have way too much cap for me to stand a chance lol

  • cjbeckel: Jonathan, you sold me damaged goods, Cain couldn't even last two innings
    Yesterday at 11:30:13 PM
  • Jonathan: Coors field buddy. I told you that. Dont feel bad, I inherited Rockies to start with. No pitchers.
  • Jonathan: I also inherited that farm way before it was good

  • cjbeckel: The Rox pitching staff...that is a tough place to start from
    Today at 12:55:55 AM
  • Scalious: Espically in a league where TOR arms are king
    Today at 12:57:15 AM
  • Scalious: Those huge negatives for pitchers giving up HRs can be killer in week to week
    Today at 12:58:25 AM
  • Jonathan: The best hope is that they get traded to better place. Like Pomeranz
    Today at 01:08:12 AM
  • cjbeckel: Really the only kind of pitcher that can make it in Denver is a guy like Ubaldo Jimenez
    Today at 01:12:25 AM
  • cjbeckel: He had great movement on his pitches, especially down in the strike zone.  It was really hard to hit homers on that guy
