The 5th Down Blog is designed to help you, the fantasy owner, on whom to start, sit, and who we pick as a sleeper for the week. Each week, we will take turns doing a position for the week. Feedback is always welcome as we love to discuss football!

Quarterback - JMAC

Must Start: Matt Stafford :DET-NFL: vs :HOU-NFL:
A usually solid DEF in the Texans got torched by Chad frickin Henne last week. Look for Stafford to have a big game on Turkey day to the tune of 350 yards with 2-3 td's as well
(other must starts: Andy Dalton, Andrew Luck)

Must Sit: Joe Flacco :BAL-NFL: vs :SDG:
Flacco is garbage away from home, matchup suggest to play the man but SD has flashes of a respectable def in spurts, and I see Rice running rampant vs SD this week.
(other must sits: Ryan Fitzpatrick, Jay Cutler

Sleeper: Chad Henne :JAC:  vs :TEN:
Tennesse is not overly impressive on defense and Henne has a hot hand , it seems :). Give him a go this week as the match up is very user friendly this week.
(other sleepers: Mark Sanchez

Running Back - Mike

Must Start: Doug Martin :TAM: vs. :ATL-NFL:
The Falcons have been getting pounded on the ground, and with Martin coming into his own, look for a big day.
(other must starts: Chris Johnson, Frank Gore, C.J. Spiller)

Must Sit: LeSean McCoy :PHI-NFL: vs :CAR:
Too many reasons not to start Shady this week, the game isn't til Moday, maybe he starts, maybe he doesn't, the Panthers front 7 has been playing better, and the Eagles still won't commit to the run.
(other must sits:Michael Turner, Miquel LaShoure, Alfred Morris)

Sleeper: Ronnie Hillman :DEN: vs :KAN:
The job is his, and he should have a nice game against the Chiefs, I love him even more in PPR formats.
(other sleepers: James Starks, Beanie Wells, Marcel Reece)

Wide Receivers - Eric

Must Start: Dez Bryant :DAL: vs :WAS-NFL:
The Redskins D has allowed 11TD and less than 200 yds 4x. Bryant had a huge week last week and 2 straight weeks with a TD. The Skins are the 29th ranked defense and with Murray still out, Romo will pass.

Must Sit: Vincent Jackson :TAM: vs :ATL-NFL:
Jackson has been on and off over the past few weeks. He seems to get a TD every other week and has only amassed over 100 yds in 3 weeks.

Sleeper: TY Hilton :IND: vs :BUF:
Over the past 3 weeks, Hilton has 12 rec, 201 yds, 3 TDs (in 2 games). He has become the new Austin Collie and a favorite for Luck. BTW Avery may be out with a concussion this week.

Tight Ends - ProFSL

Must Start: Aaron Hernandez :NE: vs :NYJ:
Yeah Hernandez was always a must start headed into 2012.  However his injury concerns have been a problem for fantasy GMs this year.  Well the GRONK is out and Aaron is playing unless he chokes on a turkey leg.

Must Sit: Heath Miller :PIT-NFL: vs :CLE-NFL:
Miller must been one of the best this year but that was with Big Ben at the helm.  Low production is now the norm with ailing QBs.  Plus, Cleveland is surprisingly one of the best at holding TEs.

Sleeper: Dallas Clark :TAM: vs :ATL-NFL:
Clark is a household name but times have changed and he is playing a tough-D; right?  Well, the Falcons are one of the worst against opposing TEs.  Start Dallas in Tampa.

Defense - Philly Girl

Must Start: New England :NE: vs New York :NYJ:
The Patriots defense is looking better and better and now play the rival Jets who have the most inconsistent play at QB.  Start New England and don't look back.

Must Sit: San Francisco :SFO: New Orleans :NO:
The 49ers are fresh off a dominating victory led by their defense.  This week they don't have the benefit of facing a backup QB.  They get the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with Drew Brees and the Saints.  Time to use your backup-D.

Sleeper: Carolina :CAR: vs Philadelphia :PHI-NFL:
The Eagles offense has been a turnover machine and therefore been a fantasy donors to opposing defenses.  The Panthers deserve a look this week especially if you have the 49ers defense.

Over 300yds and 3 td's is "limited passing"? I'm just busting balls, as I have been wrong with my SSS more than not.

Over 300yds and 3 td's is "limited passing"? I'm just busting balls, as I have been wrong with my SSS more than not.

Only 18 receptions by Patriots receivers...

Must Start: Dez Bryant - 8 rec 145 yds 2 TD's (33.1 in PPR)

Must Sit: Vincent Jackson - 5 rec 96 yds (14.6 in PPR)

Sleeper: TY Hilton - 3 rec 33 yds 1 TD (18.3 in PPR)


If Hilton didnt catch a TD, him and V-Jax would have been swapped.
