Haha they are exciting, aren't they? :disco:

Anywhooooo, deleted the old league, this one is now the official FO sidekick. Set your trading blocks and whatnot, and may the force be with you :judge:

Maannn!!  My other team was actually decent!  I now have the dreaded troika of Blake, Granger and Gasol!  Ugh!

I meant Blake Griffin, and no Steve Blake does not rock.  He's a little prick-watched him in college!

Congratulations to Steve, who ran away with this league and therefore received the :NBA6TH: trophy in his signature, apart from a healthy TMS boost for :SAC: to be added soon.

The second place was always going to be close. Prab had a bit of a head start since he played his games much earlier than everybody else. But with only 2 days left, I'm leading him by half a point (sic!), hoping that Melo won't play too much in his last game (I'm tied in three-pointers with Paris Headlights). Literally a dozen other changes could occur too, e.g. my FT% is .7497, clearly inferior to Nick's .7498 ;)

No changes before the last night: if Melo hits a three, I need either Valanciunas or Andersen to go 2/2 at the line :afro:

Was a bit nervous I wouldn't get my Point Guard quota for a long while but all worked out in the end :bacon:

NBA Front Office 2.0 strikes back :judge:

WHAT
FO is not only a game, but also a community. This little side project started a year ago, and the idea behind it is: since we're battling through bi-annual exceptions, extend-and-trades and whatnot on a daily basis here, why don't we have a bit of relatively mindless fun as a side dish? It's an opportunity for the whole gang to meet and enjoy this very casual "typical fantasy" experience, oh-so-different from our daily FO grind! As an additional incentive, the top performers receive a very slight TMS bump, as their FO players respect their bosses' mad skillz :)

WHO
:OKC: David, :DET-NBA: Kris, :DAL-NBA: Stephen, :DEN-NBA: Nick, :CHI-NBA: Frank, :PHX: myself, and the reigning champion :SAC: Steve hopefully returning. 20 places in total. PM me if interested!

HOW
Auction (creative, inspires trash talk), 9-cat roto (i.e. really focused on the draft night, as we have enough on our plates with the "real deal" H2H NBAFO throughout the season), ESPN (personal/historical bias: Yahoo draft rooms suck). Whoever bids for my Gortat is automatically kicked out of FO ;)

WHEN
October-ish? I'll start a doodle soon to find the perfect draft day and a nice compromise between the time zones.

  • Jpsprague10: All about next year my brotha, i'm done being the doormat lol.
  • Scalious: AL west was pretty weak this year. So its workable. Though Seattle the parts to make a run. TEX has a good core too.
  • Brent: I got frustrated in ML and had to just not renew for this season.
  • Scalious: What was wrong with ML for ya?
  • Brent: Finding players that were actually available was a real pain.  I did win $ so I'm not complaining about it as I had Seattle.  I wish I had started form the beginning in the draft as I would've drafted differently than the person I took over for.
  • Jpsprague10: At the moment, I'd still consider Oakland the favorite. I'm far from done though. With such a young talented core, i have all sorts of options moving forward.
  • Scalious: Well. From my understanding. The Google spread sheet was fairly new
    Today at 01:28:10 AM
  • Scalious: For me. Part of the fun was finding all those players
    Today at 01:28:37 AM
  • Brent: Yeah, with the amount of leagues I'm in, work and going to school it was just too much.
  • Scalious: Oh Yeah. OAK is still top dog. Goes w/o saying
    Today at 01:29:52 AM
  • Jpsprague10: Baez, Bryant, Alcantara, Betts, Singleton, deGrom, C. Martinez, Stephenson, Susac and others will change the complexion of my roster pretty quick. Next wave jsn't toooo bad either
    Today at 01:32:10 AM
  • Scalious: True. I'm only in 4 leagues..and I don't plan on expanding. I prefer to stay dedicated to a few then spread myself thin.
  • Scalious: Ya know, for as hot as Mookie has been this year. I still feel he is underatted...
  • Brent: Yeah, I am in too many.  I cut down awhile back, but now I expanded again.
  • Jpsprague10: I don't think i'd join another baseball league. I've tossed around some ideas about starting one though.
  • Jpsprague10: He has had a rough start, i think most of that was from.pressing on defense though. Kid can flat out hit.
  • Jpsprague10: He looked pretty awful at times out there in the outfield. Have to believe it's been a major focus.
  • Scalious: Well. He was a 2B before recently. The Ball Read/routes to the ball are probably going to make him look bad
    Today at 01:41:05 AM
  • Scalious: I think before they started to put him in the OF. Last time was highschool I think.
  • Jpsprague10: Alcantara has been pretty fantastic out there. But , i know I had helluva time making those reads. As a SS, i found it easier to go out on the tough plays, than to read a normal fly ball from the outfield. Pitching, now that was the gig.
  • Scalious: CF was my posistion in Highschool. I couldn't field a ball on the IF for crap. Took me awhile to get used to reading, but its all about anticpation
    Today at 01:49:11 AM
  • Jpsprague10: He's a great athlete, he'll improve over time. He kinda has to if he stays in Boston.
  • Lindner: Brent. your otc in the invitational.
  • Lindner: I moved from catcher to the outfield halfway through high school. It took a little time before I started to get really strong reads consistently.
  • Lindner: It takes a little bit of time, but it's something that should come to most players eventually.
