My Cubs may have problems but they are on a roll and A-Rod is healthy again. :toast:

I would like to see them go at least .500 this year, so anything else is icing on the cake.

Brutal week for Angels as A's advance a bit.  Two back in the division and one back in the wildcard (with two teams ahead) doesn't give much room for error.

Beating the Orioles with 500+ point isn't much of an accomplishment.  That team has rebuilt themselves into a minor league haven and have little to produce at the major league level.  Don't feel too bad... my team isn't too much better this year.

I rationalized it as 3-4 years of Rios on a power Sox offense would be a safer gamble than 3+ years of Tabata on a Pirates offense, with power still a question mark.  I might be wrong, we'll see!

This is all true.  But if I don't finish last I will be happy.

Week 0 Power Rankings
1) :NYY: - Sabathia, Burnett, Lackey makes Yankees best rotation in the bigs
2) :PHI: - Phils have added depth to match Yanks.  Figgins replacing Werth isn't all that bad.
3) :MIL:
4) :COL: - Rockies edge Red Sox unlike World Series three years ago (1)
5) :LAA: - A retooled power offense and young pitching staff by new GM Brown.  Look out A's… (2)
6) :BOS:  (-2)
7) :OAK:  (-1)
8) :CIN: - Reds bring in depth to push them ahead of Cards in NL races (1)
9) :PIT: - Buccos bring in more offensive support with Raburn and Headley. (3)
10) :STL:  (-2)
11) :CLE: - Mistake by the lake has the best D in the majors (2)
12) :LAD: - Manny drags this franchise down with his roids, heavy salary, and horrible D. (-1)
13) :TOR:  (-3)
14) :SEA: - Trade with Fathers validates lineup a bit more (2)
15) :TB: - Overlooked offense in preseason power rankings (9)
16) :TEX:  (-2)
17) :MIN: - Mauer's deals: Real-life $184m over 8 years, Fantasy $40m over 4 years (1)
18) :NYM: - Pitching staff coming together with Johan at his true form. (-1)
19) :SF:  (-4)
20) :ATL: - Solid D plus Heyward makes this team interesting to watch (-1)
21) :CHC: - First it was a $12m bonus for Alex Avila, and now Chipper and Buerhle come to town… wow. (4)
22) :ARZ: - Rotation overlooked with Halladay, Jimenez, Zambrano (and Webb)
23) :CHW: - Rick, post a depth chart and you'll climb the rankings at least a little bit! (-2)
24) :FL: - Defense is suspect at best (-4)
25) :WAS: - Nats should shoot up rankings with Jake's leadership in the front office. (1)
26) :DET:  (-3)
27) :BAL: - All I hear is crickets from the new GM.
28) :KC: - Butler and Meche are gone and the farm approaches Dodger value. (1)
29) :HOU: - Fat Elvis on the DL (-1)
30) :SD: - A couple trades have improved the team slightly… could overtake Stros soon.

Looking back at the original rankings, I severely over-ranked Howe's Rockies, my Pirates, and the Mariners.  Likewise, I didn't give the Tigers the light of day and overlooked what Paul's Cardinals and M.J.'s Dodgers had.

Now, I did have a bit of a fire sale early on, coupled with injuries and some inconsistent play... my team probably should have been in the low teens.  Howe's team was, and still is, loaded with talent but has a lot of holes (just like mine has had).
