Colby you had all this talk that the Pirates here a playoff team, what happened?

I will actually give it until July.  The thing is, I am in a very tough division and I am behind the 8-ball by a big margin already.  My team wouldn't change much after a summer sale though as I have the pieces intact for a consistent run every year.  Arroyo and Wiggington would probably be made available.

So is this what you call a "consistent run?" If so, the only thing consistent is the L's.

Grades: [Batting, Pitching, Fielding]

Week 5 Power Rankings
1) :NYY: - (4-0) [A/A/A] - Yanks lose some key elements  of depth in order to stay under cap.
2) :PHI: - (2-2) [A/A/B] - Good week for Phils management: Cleared cap space, improven pen via addition by subtraction, and brought in Berkman (1)
3) :MIL: - (4-0) [A/A-/A] - The farm is seeping into the daily lineup these days in the brewery. (-1)
4) :OAK: - (2-2) [A/A/B-] - Bradley may be free but he is chaotic.  Tough week but still strong in division.
5) :BOS: - (2-2) [A-/B/B-] -
6) :CLE: - (3-1) [A/C/A-] - Chad has a top tier offense now (5)
7) :STL: - (3-1) [A-/B-/B-] - No Pujols and Carpenter?  Besides the cap hits, Paul is looking like one brilliant GM right now. (1)
8) :LAA: - (2-2) [A/C/B] - Angels are staying tight with the A's (-2)
9) :CIN: - (4-0) [A-/C/B+](1)
10) :LAD: - (3-1) [A-/B/D] - How long does Kelly Johnson keep crushing the ball? (-1)
11) :TB: - (2-2) [B+/B-/B+] - Rays are looking like top competition for the AL wildcard again and Crawford is signed for the long haul. (2)
12) :COL: - (2-2) [A-/C+/B-] - Stars are there but lack of supporting cast is showing up in early season record. (-5)
13) :PIT: - (1-3) [B+/C/B+] - Lack of true ace holds this team back. (-1)
14) :TEX: - (3-1) [B+/C/C+] -
15) :TOR: - (2-2) [B/D/B] -
16) :MIN: - (1-3) [C/C/B+] - Pitching is bad right now but offense will be down all year long outside of Mauer and Morneau
17) :SF: - (3-1) [C+/C/C] - Escaped with a win over the Orioles. (1)
18) :SEA: - (1-3) [D/B-/C+](-1)
19) :DET: - (3-1) [C/B-/D] - Hot start in the first month of the season (3)
20) :ATL: - (3-1) [C/C/C] - As soon as I analyze the offense and gear up to award points, new GM decides to rebuild. (-1)
21) :CHW: - (2-2) [C+/D/D] - Konerko, McGehee, and Ethier all looking good so far (2)
22) :ARZ: - (1-3) [F/A-/D] - Halladay and Jimenez are one of the best 1-2 punches in the majors (-1)
23) :NYM: - (1-3) [D/B/D](-3)
24) :KC: - (1-3) [D/D/C] -
25) :FL: - (0-4) [F/C/C] - Fish receive some bullpen help and land Delmon Young. (2)
26) :BAL: - (1-3) [D/D/C] - Rotation looks much better, Colvin a nice cheap pickup (-1)
27) :WAS: - (1-3) [F/C/C] - Jake has a full lineup everybody! (2)
28) :HOU: - (1-3) [F/C/D] - Arrival of Rollins doesn't change too much… another huge upset though - this time the A's!!! (2)
29) :CHC: - (1-3) [F/C/D] - Chipper and Hawpe are gone, looks like Buehrle is next.. (-3)
30) :SD: - (0-4) [F/D/C+](-2)

A consistent run year-to-year... it has only been four weeks.  I would be 2-2 if it wasn't for the tough loss to the Phillies.

How does the Brew Crew top the leader board for the 3rd straight week and drop a spot?  No love...

I adjusted some prior matchups to make sure the Week 3 standings were the same.  That lineup period wreaked some havoc!

It doesn't matter what the lineup period is - the Cubs are still horrible.

  • Interpaga: @Daddy just some clarifications. I wasn't really after Wembanyama in NBA LIVE, I was just interested in the Spurs. Brent knows this, I would have taken them even without Wemby
    Today at 06:14:15 PM
  • Interpaga: And in CCD, we took over the Spurs when they were one of the worst teams with salaries sky-high. We ended year 1 with total actual salaries lower than when we started, and had a record of 69-3. Your 76ers were 53-19 that same year
    Today at 06:16:43 PM
  • Interpaga: I am not a better GM than you, not at all. But for 4 years in a row in CCD, Spurs had a better record than the Sixers, and I'm not sure a 10% salary difference is enough to justify a constant 20-win gap

  • Daddy: My phone was in my pocket and i was mowing the lawn
  • Daddy: I didn't make any excuses in CCD. I dont want it written off that i had Ben Simmons starting instead of Steph Curry at PG. We have no idea how that would have impacted my performance or future moves.
  • Daddy: My opinion no matter what justifications anyone presents is that salary manipulation and poor design made the playing field imbalanced from the beginning.
  • Daddy: All the rule changes since then, many in line with LIVE practices, is more of a testament to that than anything i could say.
  • Daddy: One of the greatest basketball minds in dynasty in the world left our league in year 3. Sighting it was impossible to have League balance after the advantages of paid contracts and vetoes were distributed.
  • Daddy: We can go back n forth about it but if nothing was broken yall wouldn't be changing rules and such after the fact.
  • Daddy: Im specifically calling out each and every last one of you in CCD especially. Answer the bell or let it ring. Just dont piss on my forehead and tell me its raining.

  • Daddy: I know the difference between water and piss.
  • Daddy: GMs vetoing trades then offering trades for that same guy is and will always be cheating to me.
  • Daddy: Salary cap manipulation is and will always be unfair/cheating to me.
  • Daddy: Thats why it was allowed to begin with. I know because i was there when "Corey" wrote all that bullCrap into his rules. Then... Like i said. Everyone copied it.
  • Daddy: Why would you allow cash exchange in fantasy sports where people quit nonstop especially after doing them? Why would you have a trade committee of 7 for 2 vetoes to kill a deal? A committee made up 100% of the guys you trying to beat.
  • Daddy: Because you need it. To manipulate your outcome. There is no other reason.
  • Daddy: And people unassumingly copied that thinking it was the way. It is not the way.
  • Daddy: Well. Did you come here because you love basketball or have you stayed because you enjoy advantages? Thats where im at.
  • Daddy: If yall love basketball... Then what da problem is (insert eyes emoji)
  • Daddy: Take my team. It dont really matter who i take. ;)
  • Interpaga: I didn't actually want to start a discussion about CCD. We've made significant changes and a lot of improvements recently and are very confident that any potential distortions from past rules will correct themselves quickly
    Today at 06:49:22 PM
  • Daddy: I dont want to discuss CCD either. Im discussing competition.
  • Daddy: How did Doc Holiday say it? "Im your huckleberry... That's just my game."
  • Daddy: No disrespect to CCD. LIVE wont have "distortions". Come see for yourself.
  • Interpaga: @daddy I can't wait to beat you in NCAA LIVE, playing on an even field
    Today at 06:55:27 PM
  • Daddy: I cant wait to be beaten :toast:
  • Brent: Okay, so we have to select 5 players to keep and the other 10 go into the expansion draft.  Are the 2024 rookies part of the expansion draft or part of a rookie draft?
  • Daddy: Rookie draft
  • Daddy: And @Brent i know you want the smoke. Some of yall i know yall just want to compete and have a solid product.
  • Daddy: Its the ones in one league that profess how smart they are and they are the sport expert.
  • Daddy: That have won or been winning a product thats the only one they want to try.
  • Brent: Okay, perfect so an expansion draft and a rookie draft.  Nice.  Yeah, I'm usually competitive in most leagues.
  • Daddy: Most likely a flawed product.
  • Daddy: Expansion draft leads into the rookie draft.
  • Daddy: The expansion teams will pluck one player each from the existing 30 Franchises.
  • Daddy: Giving each expansion team a 15 man roster and each existing team a 14 man roster headed into the draft.
  • Daddy: Each NBA LIVE team (regardless of what the actual NBA team has) will have its 1st & 2nd rd picks (2024) (2025) with 2024 order TBD by the actual draft order. +2
    Today at 07:16:31 PM
  • jmntl82: So if one of the 10 players you don’t protect gets picked the other 9 are out of the player pool for the expansion draft?
  • Daddy: Meaning if my Timberwolves had the 7th pick in real life, i would have the 9th pick b/c Seattle is #1 & Vegas #2
    Today at 07:17:30 PM
  • Daddy: Yes @jmntl82
  • Daddy: Each team can only lose 1 player to expansion.
  • Daddy: The expansion teams should be competitive right away. Especially since in NBA LIVE we score 12 players per matchup. Not 6.
