Colby's Pirates are still in the playoff chase but will probably be eliminated this week with either a Pirates loss, Reds win, or Cardinals win.  NL Central is pretty tight from 2nd through 6th...

:CIN: 11-8
:STL: 11-8
:HOU: 10-9
:CHC: 8-11
:PIT: 7-12

We are looking at a 3-team tie in the AL Central next week if matchups ended today.  Reds are looking at a one-game advantage in the NL Wildcard.  All NL division titles will be locked up.  With tiebreaker advantages, the Blue Jays and Yankees will still be tied in the AL East but both will have clinched playoffs; A's will clinch the AL West; Red Sox and Angels will be eliminated from contention.

It is very likely that there will be three races left with two of significance - NL Wildcard and AL Central.  If this week ends today, the NL Wildcard is tight with the Reds in the driver's seat.

Stros not gettin to much love still. With playing seattle this week, look for the wins to continue.

The Reds and Cards have tough matchups

The people I would like to thank for my loss to the Angels...

1. Adam Lind - Cito Gaston out Larussaing LaRussa and benching him against Dice-K, but playing him against a weeks worth of lefties - way to go genius. You are not retiring soon enough.
2. Mike Napoli (0-4, 2 Ks on Sunday) and Tori Hunter - when you can't hit Scott Baker, you pretty much suck
3. Gordon Beckham - 0-4 3 Ks on Sunday
4. Kevin Slowey - really? WTF was that?
5. Jon Lester - not on my team but gave up a hit to everyone in Toronto's organization - plus several bombs to Overbay, except Adam Lind, who Cito was cuddling with on the bench.
6. Neil Walker - what did he do, absolutely zero.
7. Brandon Inge - only hits when he isn't in the line up
8. Andy Petite - the human mangina - suck it up and get back out there. Cry me a river Lurch.
I have now vented, and it was rather cathartic... it was fun watching the lead slip away

Wouldn't that be something if the Astros pulled into the lead with two weeks to go?

This team might be last in the rankings now, but just wait till moustakas, hosmer, montgomery, britton, santana, and drabek come in to the league over the next two years.
