If allowed, I think this deal s/b allowed to be voted upon if OK per Billy on Bazemore.


Nets do this deal to get from under the contract of Rozier. Management believes Lowry is the better o/a PG and do believe that a team will eventually find a spot for Gillespie. He can board for sure, but what remains to be seen are the other stats provided.Johnson is still useful and looks to not be slowing down in a reserve role. Overall, the Nets are comfortable with this deal, despite the age taken on. Brooklyn will address he age issue in due time if necessary. We gain a real useful PG while not sacrificing a ton.

While I don't think Rozier is worth the contract, I do move some salary in Lowry/Nance which equates to Rozier so made sense. Lowry should still have some good production left but going younger with Rozier is preferable for me. I'll have to see how rest of offseason goes to sort out my cap issues but starting things off with this deal that is basically even cap both ways this year.

Good point, I mostly asked to include him due to thinking I am on the hook for zero cap didn't take into account I was 1 who previously paid on him. Will honor deal regardless so let Billy advise how it will work.

Vik, Double negatives for salary purposes don't work in fantasy, so you essentially cancel out paying for him by reacquiring him and therefore should have the 'salary hit' removed from your financial obligations. There's a reason I put 'Baze is going home' in the original deal post.

If the salary is removed completely then in theory I can trade him again and save 1.1m (which would work for me but isn't fair). Instead I think most logical way is I am on the hook for salary no matter what and if I trade him again the new team gets him paid.

That is what I meant. He s/b removed from the 'cap hit' section but counted as normal player on your roster w/salary.
