Viktor Fasth
« on: May 23, 2012, 05:32:40 AM »
The Anaheim Ducks announced Monday that they have signed two-time Swedish Elite League goaltender of the year Viktor Fasth to a one-year contract.

There has been a lot of talk about this guy. Will he have success in the NHL?

I think it's a great signing. Should give them the ability to rest Hillier a bit more as they have had to ride him too hard the last while. He is un-proven in the NHL but has played very well overseas.

With Tarkki leaving the Ducks to head to the KHL they needed another G to back-up Hillier as Ellis likely wont be re-signed and Desruliers isn't the answer!

Interesting signing. We shall see how it plays out but probably a backup for a least 2 years giving Hiller a bit of a break.
