2018/19 Playoff race & awards preview
« on: February 03, 2019, 08:37:00 AM »
Pacific Division
:PHX: :LAC: :GS: are locks, the latter favourites to raise that banner

Southwest Division
:SA: should win it, :NOP: are another Playoff lock

Northwest Division
:UT:  have the best record league-wide, but will the Brow suit up again this season?
:MIN-NBA: are the 7th & last team over .500.
:DEN-NBA: & :OKC: will battle it out for the 8th seed.

Central Division
:DET-NBA: (wow!), :IND-NBA:, and :CHI-NBA: all having themselves a wonderful season.

Southeast Division
Florida basketball dominating again - :MIA-NBA: and :ORL: are virtually tied for the Division title.

Atlantic Division
:PHI-NBA: upsetting :TOR-NBA: right now.
:BOS-NBA: the 8th pick... unless :ATL-NBA: go on a wild run!

Awards favourites:
MVP - either AD or Giannis, leading :UT: to 70+ wins yet again :agent:
RoY - :SA: Luka, duh :taco:
DPoY - AD if his season continues, :NOP: Kawhi or :MIA-NBA: PG13 otherwise?
MIP - :WAS-NBA: Fox (44 to 81 fpg) or :PHI-NBA: Siakam (52 to 88 fpg)

Such drama in the 1st round!

Heartbreak in :GS:, one of the only 4 teams to score 2000 points buried by Luke Kennard and Allonzo Trier of all people!

Not to mention the 1st seed in the East :DET-NBA: fell to the :BOS-NBA:!!!

And both Ted's teams out so early for the first time in almost a decade? Wow...

Yes, this guy has is bringing it and averaging 101 fantasy points / game so far in the playoffs.  Does Detroit now have their own Big 3?

Higher seeded teams advance to the Conference Finals, but McCollum goes down!
Are the :LAC: officially the title favourite now? Who you got?

(Also, I'm off cycling for 6 weeks. I hope one of the other moderators can set up the Finals matchup next week. Please complain violently if you can't see it by Monday afternoon!)

Gordon Hayward got that concussion 1 minute in, wish he could've played and got the last 40 pts to get the edge, but such is the case for all teams.

Good luck to Philly and Miami. Philly's Klay Thompson plays 5 games this week and Miami's Blake Griffin is out so it will be interesting out East.

WCF is a Battle of the Titans! Jazz vs. Clippers will be good;  I thought Spurs was gonna pull that upset though.

As good as Thompson went today, I wish it was Siakam who was playing 5 games this week--140 points from 30 minutes is a pretty good night.

Well looks like Philly is going to the finals. Gordon and Griffin resting while Mirotic broke his thumb. Heat's playoffs bad luck continues lol.

  • indiansnation: i think its harder guessing what yound guys will produce in nfl than baseball
    October 14, 2019, 02:05:31 AM
  • Brent: The Cowboys got lucky with La'ell Colllins.  He was 1st round talent, but fell out of the draft to UDFA due to false allegations that he was cleared of. So they got one of if not the best OT from that draft for peanuts.  Eventually he will need to be paid.
    October 14, 2019, 02:06:28 AM
  • Brent: Yeah, the draft is huge and also hitting on UDFAs.  Teams have to develop and then keep their own talent or they'll go broke and end up in salary cap hell.
    October 14, 2019, 02:07:09 AM
  • Yeagg: So basically just like baseball
    October 14, 2019, 02:17:10 AM
  • indiansnation: yep nfl u gotta watch how much u pay look at browns they are going to have that problem in 2021 they have alot of good tallent thats going to need to get paid.

  • Yeagg: And no way Brian. Baseball has 40 rounds and still most of those guys never even sniff the MLB

  • Yeagg: More 1st round picks are bust than even play a full season
    October 14, 2019, 02:18:02 AM
  • Brent: They also have between now and then to figure out who will be resigned and who will be replaced and don't they still have quite a few 1st round picks between now and then?

  • indiansnation: Hey if u have a top notch gm with a great scouting staff u can make any player u draft be great. Look at Boston their minors sick why is that because they suck at drafting. Know look at Tampa and indians and miami they have pretty dang good minors especially I diane look at who they had pitching this year bauer got traded, and they lost 2 of their sp most. Of the yr

  • Daddy: I completely understand. Neither of our teams Oline has been stellar to this point.
  • Daddy: Hopefully this guy can settle in and work out in LA as a Guard.

  • Vik: Hey Brent
  • Vik: I found new Hornets GM so back to full again in BOD
    Today at 12:40:54 AM
  • Brent: Awesome.  I got someone to join and it looks like he is going to take the Broncos in NFLC.
  • Brent: That would make the AFC West complete with 4 GMs.  NFC South has 4 GMs.  NFC West is 3/4, AFC South is 2/4, NFC East is 2/4, AFC East is 3/4 and NFC North is 3/4.
  • Brent: AFC North is 3/4.

  • Daddy: What would you give up for Ramsey @Brian?
  • Daddy: Khalil Mack or Laremy Tunsel even? What is fair value in your opinion?
  • Daddy: Would you trade Frank Ragnow & Noah Fant for Jalen Ramsey? (Be careful, ive seen a lot of your trades)
  • Daddy: I ask because I see our picks somewhere between 20-32 and those 2 guys were drafted @ #20 in 2018 & 2019 respectively. Ramsey is imo the best at what he does. Are they?
