2018-19 Deadlines

Hey everyone,

I've updated the deadlines for this upcoming season; I've updated them in the Handbook of Rules and linked them above. Here are some important dates for the near future:

• Free Agency Ends - February 11th, 2019 @ 11:59pm
• Waiver Period Ends - February 11th, 2019 @ 11:59pm
• Regular Season Ends - March 8th, 2019 @ 11:59pm
• Playoffs Start - March 9th, 2019 @ 3:00pm
• Playoffs End - April 6th, 2019 @ 11:59pm
• IR Replacements and Contracts End - April 6th, 2019 @ 11:59pm
• Projected Cap Space Update - April 8th, 2019
• Trading Opens - April 10th, 2019
• Extension Period 2 Begins - April 10th, 2019 @ 12:00pm
• Trading Closes – May 15th, 2019 @ 11:59pm
• Extension Period 2 End - May 31st, 2019 @ 9:00pm

Some teams have already started using Waivers and the draft and free agency start soon! It should start getting lively in this league again.

The ruling on players eligible for both Free Agency and the Draft (players with 1-39 NHL games played) are able to be bid on, but if that player is drafted before a Free Agent bid closes (48 hours of inactivity after last bid) its property of the drafting team and the bids for that player become inactive.

My rational for this ruling is due to the timing of our draft and free agency this year. Prior years in Backyard featured a draft that was completed before free agency had begun. If we had been on a normal timeline, that would have been the case again. The only reason that the draft and free agency overlap this year is because of the limited amount of time we have before the NHL season begins.

Strategically it may be better to avoid bidding to not draw attention to the player, but anyone is free to do so.

Lineup changes are executed: Daily
Lineup Changes are locked 0:01(hours:minutes) Set amount of time before 1st game of the day

This could be changed to 0.05 (minutes) before the start of players game.

I have 3 goalies on my roster and I need to know who is in goal for today game and who is sitting out.
