Scoring
« on: April 14, 2018, 11:39:24 PM »
As I mentioned, updates will be sporadic but for the most part within day of games (it's too bad I can't do it on my phone as I spend a lot of time commuting so it would be the ideal time)

But this thread is more so to discuss the scoring values. No changes this year of course, but a couple of things I think need to be changed for next year.

1. Games played should probably be even for both leagues. I made NHL 2 due to the higher variability but that was without taking into account that playoff hockey picks up in intensity- some heavy hitting series so far.

2. In hindsight NBA points should probably be worth more, I went with the low end since higher values skwed the value of NBA players in my intial test but I am thinking .2 or even double at .25 for next year and beyond.

Open to other suggestions. No rush though and we will have a much better sense as we get deeper into the playoffs but figured we can start the discussion early.

Figured I'll also post updates here. All games up and including last night have been entered. Again, I'm trying to be as diligent as possible, but just shoot me a PM if there are errors.

Format will for sure be changing to games 1-7 instead of dates for round 2 and beyond as I think it will make it a little easier

Looks like I might have jumped the gun as values are pretty good so my test was pretty accurate- round 1 average is still slightly higher for NBA(8.56 to 8.35)
