NHL Playoff Chatter
« on: April 09, 2018, 04:20:20 PM »
Talk anything and everything about NHL playoffs here.

I'm a little surprised not a single Ducks player was drafted (strongly consider going with 1 at the end), as I feel it's a toss up series vs. the Sharks. I hope Doughty in the 10th can be a steal for me if they manage to beat the Knights.

Leafs/Bruins is another interesting series and they always play tough. I'm hoping for Leafs but even if they advance I'm not sure they can beat the likes of Tampa/Pit, though there is potential for them to make a run to the finals still.

Finals Prediction: Lighting over Jets in 7 (I own 6 guys but not biased at all :P)

Yikes. It looks like this Vegas team is actually for real. And looks like that barn is a tough one to play in too.

I think it would be absolutely ridiculous if a first-year expansion team wins the Cup. There's something seriously wrong with the league if that happens... Kudos to the Golden Knights, but jeez, an expansion team steam rolling the competition so far in the Playoffs? Wow.

Round 2 well on it's way but for round 1 we have David Pasternak, Alexandar Ovechkin and Jake Guentzel as the top performers and getting bonus points.

Ovi is no a suprise but Guentzel/Paasternak would not have been my guesses

Though double OT lose the other day but if they can get this game tonight I'm liking their chances to advance again. I still don't seem them going all the way as I think whoever wins the other series will go to the finals but if I had a choice I'd want to see Vegas/WPG

If we had goalie stats for this league Fleury would probably be leading all scorers

Some great second round action but Jets/NSH series was easily the best. I don't think I've ever seen a series where the starting goalie was pulled 3 out of 7 games as was the case with Rinne. He was also coming off a shutout in game 6 and the 1st goal was very fluky. For the Jets, Scheifele set a record with 7 away goals.

In other news, what is up with Marchand lol and how far can the knights go? I see WPG beating them but I also thought Kings and then even Sharks would advance, so not counting out Vegas and odds are it will go 6 or 7.

Not surprising that the 3 bonuses go to guys playing in game 7- Forsberg, Byfuglien, Scheifele (just edging Subban by .13 points)

Vegas continuing to stun the world as they earn a trip to the finals. At this point I am not totally shocked but the fact they did it in 5 games is very impressive as the Jets are clearly the more talented team and based on my eyes they were also the better team most of the series just couldn't solve Fluery.

I wonder if those who were bold enough to pick Vegas for the cup preseason (or even pre playoffs) can actually believe they are now 1 series away from making history.

Great finals with Ovi getting his  :win: and nice to see Vegas make it all the way. Will be interesting to see if they are legit next year.

Bonus added with Carlson just edging Kuznetzov for the 3rd, which could end up being the difference in who wins it all.

Technically this wraps up all the NHL scoring but as mentioned in the last PM need to do a check once NBA is done as well.

Love seeing OV get the Cup. Also love seeing Vegas lose, that would have been ridiculous had a 1st year expansion team won the Cup. Still crazy and somewhat of a joke that they made it to the Finals. What the hell's wrong with the other 28 teams in the league that a team can build a contender from literally zero players or picks. MAF certainly helps the way he played this year and for the first 3 rounds of the playoffs, but still, jeez.

I seriously can't see Vegas being this competitive next year... But then again, no one thought they would be this year.
