Teams Post Draft
« on: April 03, 2018, 12:06:18 AM »
Post your full team here when draft is over (NBA guys followed by NHL for efficiency).

Also, not a must but I would prefer if you can post guys on the same team 1 after another as I will be doing a lot of copy/pasting

  • kidd5jersey: We cannot pause FA because the pitchers and catchers report in a month and if we want a season then we have to do free agency
    Today at 09:15:53 AM
  • kidd5jersey: You guys let me know what you think but these are problems in the league right now
    Today at 09:16:25 AM
  • RyanJames5: I agree Kidd. Someone has to be able to dedicate time to keep the draft moving and organized.  It's a time consuming job

  • indiansnation: My job makes it complicated to be able to keep draft going steady I work 1 to 10pm.
  • indiansnation: So my whole day is shot.
  • kidd5jersey: Allow me to do the updates on draft to where I can edit Chris' posts.  I have to be able to mark players off and add the drafted players to sheets
    Today at 09:21:50 AM
  • Brent: Brian, list sent
  • indiansnation: That is fair Brent

  • indiansnation: Going to send u second pm Brent in second
    Today at 09:33:29 AM
  • RyanJames5: I'm kind of late with the idea, but rather than releasing everyone on Houston that will not be kept on the roster to Free Agency, what if we held a 1 round draft for all of those players?
  • RyanJames5: Just thinking it's such a huge influx of talent that, just by luck, whoever has the most cap space to accumulate a ton of.
  • kidd5jersey: That is an interesting idea Ryan.  There is a website draftlottery.com I believe that we can have it generate picks.
  • kidd5jersey: I'm not sure there is a good option for this though.  We'll sift through it.
  • RyanJames5: It could always be in reverse order of finsh last year.
  • RyanJames5: I do agree, certainly no handbook on how to handle a situation like that, I was just trying to think of a way to attempt to evenly distribute talent, rather than just let the team with 80 or 90M in cap space sign everyone
    Today at 10:40:25 AM
  • indiansnation: Kidd 1st pm
  • indiansnation: Kudd 2nd pm

  • indiansnation: Brent pm
  • indiansnation: Brent u know added to fantrax as Houston astros
    Today at 10:59:39 AM
  • indiansnation: Just got to wait a little but to update spreedsheets
    Today at 11:00:10 AM
  • kidd5jersey: I agree Ryan.  The team with $100M will literally sign everyone.
  • RyanJames5: Yep, its too much talent to not try to find a way to evenly distribute.
  • Brent: Agreed.  Just do a random draft order for all teams and hold a 2 round draft for the MLB and MiLB talent that would be released into the talent pool.
  • Daddy: :STL-NFL: v. its coming
  • kidd5jersey: How are we going to do the drafting of it?  Are all managers aware?
  • Brent: It wouldn't be too difficult.  Stip out those players and list them out w/contracts for the MLB players.  Run a random generated draft order.  Post both of those lists, draft order and available players.  Advertise it, and then hold the draft.  Whoever doesn't get drafted in 2 rounds (60 players) goes into the FA pool.
  • kidd5jersey: Sounds legit.  Brian, get with Cris and see if that is what the best option is.  In that scenarios, guys like Elias Diaz should go back into the draft.
  • Brent: Yeah, anyone who was on the original roster outside of the few players kept.
  • RyanJames5: Good call.  2 rounds is probably more accurate.
  • indiansnation: I'm getting ready for work.
  • indiansnation: Can someone send Ldsjay hawks a pm
    Today at 12:47:42 PM
  • indiansnation: See what he thinks.
  • Yeagg: Great idea Brent!!
  • Yeagg: It should really be done before this weekend is over though, since FA is about to get a lot crazier after Catchers are signed
    Today at 01:20:19 PM
  • kidd5jersey: I will try to get it set up tonight if possible.  How should we assign the picks?
  • Yeagg: Either a randomized generator or league standings
    Today at 02:04:56 PM
  • Brent: random generator
  • ldsjayhawk: so we are talking about restoring the Houston roster and allowing all teams to draft two players each?
  • Brent: No, I'm replying to your PM now.
  • kidd5jersey: I will get to this stuff but I am fixing the Amateur Draft first.  Should be done today.
