RC VOTE: Waivers Redo, Voting by August 8th

I was trying to emulate the waiver clause for MLB (see below).  LOL.

If a player is claimed and the waiving team exercises its rescission option, the waiving team may not use the option again for that player in that season. If no team claims a player off waivers after three business days, the player has cleared waivers and may be assigned to a minor league team, traded (to any team), or released outright.

In that waiver clause the released outright part is talking about a player who has cleared waivers and not been claimed.  You were trying to add this to a rule talking about a player who was claimed and the waiver was rescinded.  The released outright part could be included in rule 3 under august waivers for the league as it currently says nothing about being able to release a player who has cleared waivers. 


3) If a player isn't claimed by any team in either league, he can be traded until the end of the month to anyone.
 If a player is claimed, but only by one team, the player can be traded only to the team that claims him.  If a player is claimed by more than one team, the club with the worst record in that player's league gets priority (player's league has priority over other league) -- and the player can be traded only to that team.
 
6) A waiver may be canceled only if the player was claimed.  Cancellation of the waiver by the waiving team within the 72 hour negotiation period means that the player can no longer be on waivers that August and stays with their team.

I agree with Roy.  The wording...

... makes it seam that the waiving team has no opportunity to keep the player and needs to trade them.  I think we all realize this is not the case, but the wording should be cleaned up.

Rule 6 is fine. The only reason to cancal a waiver would be if the player was claimed. If a player is not claimed you don't need to cancel the waiver because the player will clear waivers. At this point you can keep them, release them, or trade them til the end of august. Rule 3 could be re written to include the release or keep part. Rule 6 is fine though.

No it is not in there. I agree that it needs to be added but it needs to be added in rule 3. Rule 6 is fine how it is currently written. In rule 6 once the player is claimed and the waiver is canceled the player comes back to its original team.
