After a week of discussion, the Cubs and Orioles have come to an agreement on the following.
Cubs receive:
OF Bourjos, Peter, $0.5m (P-2013)
Orioles receive:
P Miller, Shelby, $0.5m (P-n/a)
OF Chavez, Johermyn, $0.5m (P-n/a)
The Cubs acquire a young promising OF with a tremendous upside in Bourjos. As an Angels fan, I have had many opportunities to see him play over the last half-season and I really think that the sky is the limit for him. He has an excellent combination of power and blazing speed and I think as he grows and develops, he can become an All-Star caliber player. I hated to give up Miller; there is no arm in all of the minor leagues that I am more high on, but as they say, you've got to give up something to get something. Based on my system's depth, SP is more easily replaceable for me and I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to grab Bourjos. Chavez is a nice piece, but he was always more organizational depth for me than anything. Thanks to Shooter for the painless negotiations and I wish him luck in the rebuilding.
Orioles to confirm.
