I just wanted to say thanks to commissioner Rob for the work he does to keep this league running smoothly, with Brian/-BA- and Jared/snugerud, to Corey/GypsieDeathBringer for his hardhitting, insider league reporting and really to all you guys for having a great league, especially the founding members that are still around since 2011 -- over half the league, which says a lot right there.  Thanks for letting me in and I'm looking forward to being a part of this league for a long time.

DNHL was my first contact with this site.  I assumed at first that all of the leagues here were as stable and well run as this one.  Let's just say that over the last year I've seen quite a bit of drama elsewhere on this site and learned that not all leagues are created equal.  The league runners and members make the league and I appreciate this league more and more, and New Era for baseball -- that seems to be a great league too and I'm guessing it's no coincidence that some of you guys are in that league and, in Brian's case, help run that league.

Thanks and kudos.

(And, no, I'm not drunk.  I can't rule out premature "sappy old man" syndrome, though.)

Haha, thanks a lot Dan.  I learned quickly after joining the site that not all ProFSL leagues are created equal.  Both Brian and I joined at the same time and each of us signed up for way too many leagues.  We both realized that the quality of each league depended on who was running it.  Some had poor commishes and others had commishes who were running too many leagues and falling behind on the everyday stuff.  I started this league primarily because I wanted to play as the Bruins in a hockey league and they were taken in every league available.  After being frustrated in some other leagues with certain things I knew I wanted to run it a certain way.  We got really lucky with our core of original members.  Some were ProFSL regulars but many I poached from sites like Yahoo and FantasyCafe.  So it was kind of a crapshoot but it really worked out.  When Corey signed up he posted on the wrong forum thread to join, and I thought who the h3ll names themselves GypsieDeathBringer??  I was a little worried.  But Corey is such a solid hockey guy and he cracks me up just about every time he posts anything.

I may be wrong about this, but I tend to think hockey fans, or hockey fantasy players in general, are a bit more mature than the other sports.  I'm not sure why.  I've run baseball and football leagues in the past and the drama has been overwhelming.  While I feel like we attract older, more stable members - for some reason.  Maybe the other sports are easier for young people to grasp.  Just guessing - I could be wrong.  No offense Anthony - haha.

And thanks to you Dan, you've been an awesome GM for the Kings.  A team that needed some stability.  You never know what you're going to get when people sign up.  Sometimes they join and you don't ever even hear from them again... Hence the revolving door some teams have gone through.  It's really nice to get a good, stable, smart and friendly GM who I don't have to worry about.  You, Cally, Jean and Ryan have revived your franchises and it's awesome.

Now the search for a stable Vancouver owner begins...

Yeah I came over from Yahoo.  I just wanted to be in a keeper league, saw a post for this, and was immediately intimidated by the rules and didn't understand how the forums worked.  I'm not in any other leagues on here, so DNHL is my only experience with profsl and it has been awesome.

GypsieDeathBringer actually started in that Yahoo league.  I would just swap out the first part each year.  I won the league with RimouskiDeathBringer, lost the next year and the winner rebranded me as GypsieDeathBringer.  That is how the legend was born.

I've attached a picture of me getting very drunk drinking out of the King of Canada Cup (yahoo league's trophy).  If I win it all this year I'll get us an equally fetching trophy.

DNHL is, also, really the only reason I keep up with how to use Excel, so this is all just an educational experience.  You all are my teachers.

This is soo true!  I am in Backyard NHL as well, and it's pretty good, but nothing compares to this league.

I've tried joining other leagues with the long shot of hope that it would be half of this league.  Within a year the leagues fold.

Rob, we can not thank you enough for the work you put into this league.  And the GM's in the league are always active!  :toast:

Dear Jesus... OK to ensure you DO make the playoffs I am coming up with a pkg to send you Tavares, Seguin, Keith, Rask and Gibson for a half eaten Snickers and some old movie theater popcorn.
