Wow, that was tough! All the obvious picks have been made, and till the very end I couldn't decide which way to go. Even briefly considered going for guaranteed zero points in 2014 with huge 2015 potential, then went through at least a dozen very accomplished u23 riders, and finally decided to go with possibly the coolest story. As some of you might have noticed, I'm a big fan and a frequent visitor of the Olympic Games, so welcoming Lasse Norman Hansen to my team is a very exciting moment :)

2nd round of the draft starts now :judge:

FYI, in 40 minutes :Katusha: will auto-pick.

What we did last year was to assign the most promising neo-pro that this very team signed IRL. Since :Katusha: completely ignored the youngsters this year, I'll prolly replace it with the highest-scoring kid who just got a WT contract. Unless of course you have a better idea. Thoughts?

(Unfortunately, with every passing day it becomes more likely that bugus won't join us after all. So in case you know people who know people, bring them on board ASAP please.)

Personally I think you are going to assign a rider to a team that decides not to make a pick, then you should assign a rider once everyone else has drafted, so that the quality of the draft pool is not reduced for others who have later draft picks. (ie Orica decided not to drat, so you assigned S Yates, yet Argos who were next would have liked to have drafted him, but now can't, I think that would be unfair on Argos, when Orica just weren't bothered)

If you're lower in the draft, you're supposed to have a better team (or better skills, or both) already.
The draft is supposed to help the suckier teams, so that they don't get completely murdered during the season.

I understand that, but if a team can't be bothered to draft a rider then why should they be assigned a high quality rider?

:Katusha: draft Daniil Fominykh :judge:
Since we don't have Astana, it kinda even fits geographically.

Also, FYI their GM just officially quit.

:Garmin: on your whee... I mean, on the clock

Because that gives me a bigger chance of finding a new GM for that team in the future.

As we have a new katusha maybe they should get to pick their own rider?

  • DynastyDeacon: *12 roster spots not counting G-League or IL
    Today at 09:11:22 PM
  • tdtdtd: I am still well under the cap. And there is no way I win all 16, and if I did, then I think 6 of my bids could be dropped for free. So I would fill up 3 extra spots where I would have to buy players out.
  • tdtdtd: I think I would be paying about 50m a year for my bids if I spread them out, and I have 60m+ in cap space
    Today at 09:25:10 PM
  • Daddy: Legal bidding is legal
  • tdtdtd: actually, 8 of my bids are 1m per year or less and could be dropped for free. So I don't mind winning a few those and having to drop them to clear roster space. You might be right about illegal bids being out, but I am pretty sure mine are ok
    Today at 09:27:51 PM
  • tdtdtd: Daddy's bids look illegal based on the spreadsheet, but that might be missing a recent transaction
