CC Sabathia ( salary 23M in 2013, 23M in 2014)
20M each of the next 2 seasons to help cover Sabathia's contract
David Robertson (angels offer arbitration at 3.1M)
Adam Warren (400k in 2013, first year of arbitration)
Preston Claiborne (assign to AAA on minor league contract)
Manny Banuelos (assign to AAA on minor league contract)

Angels trade:
OF Zach Borenstein (currently assigned to AZL on minor league contract)
OF Randall Grichuk (currently assigned to SS A Orem on minor league contract)
Angels 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th rd picks in upcoming draft

Yankees confirm.

For very obvious reasons this trade was made.

Hate to lose all the relievers but this was a necessity to get back what I was wanted.  Added a lot of picks and with my knowledge of the minors I feel like I can use them very wisely.  Grichuk is a solid guy to add and Borenstein may be the wildcard in the whole thing.  His bat was a very pleasant surprise in RL last year.  This deal really added to my OF depth.  I can pretty much ignore it in the draft unless someone really falls there.  The focus will be on pitching in CIF. 

With Borenstein, Grichuk, Bubba Starling, Mason Williams, Tyler Austin, Slade Heathcott and others I am liking my OF depth.

Angels agree to trade.

While the Angels do not enjoy trading it's top 2 OF prospects, the Angels feel the time to win is now. The best players in the Angels organization (Trout, Segura, Trumbo, etc.) are already in MLB with the arbitration clock ticking. Instead of trading away those assets to rebuild the Angels will try to build around them to compete now. Acquiring the 5 pitchers helps the Angels field a more competitive pitching staff to go along with its young hitters while maintaining payroll flexibility.

Angels are now entering separate negotiations with Cc's agent on amount of time spent on treadmill and donuts eaten per day. Angels requested 2hours treadmill and 0.5 donuts per day. CC's agent has countered with 0hours treadmill and 10 donuts per day.

Negotiations ongoing but angels expect this go to to an arbitration hearing where it will use  CC's general fatness as evidence to back up its case.
