Understandable - let me check his value and then I will get back to you!

MI Cabrera, Asdrubal, $0.5m (P-2011)

for

C Doumit, Ryan, $4m (2013)

Straight up since this gives you a solid replacement catcher who is on the cheap through 2013.  He was ranked as the 5th best catcher in 2008.  His poor performance in 2009 was due to a lack of playing ala while hurt.

I could afford to take some big contracts off of your books in exchange for Zambrano.  The players the Cubs would be interested are:

C Shoppach, Kelly, $2m (2009)
CI Hafner, Travis, $14.5m (2012)
OF Young, Delwyn, $0.5m (P-2010)
P Carmona, Fausto, $4m (2011)

In addition, we could take the following players to ease your cap situation...

MI Carroll, Jamey, $2m (2009)
P Wood, Kerry, $10.5m (2010)
P Looper, Braden, $5m (2009)

Ill give you Hafner, Wood, Looper and Carroll for Zambrano

Looper just had surgery on his knee, and his contract ends in 2009, so there is no point for him to be involved.  How about a deal like this...

C Shoppach, Kelly, $2m (2009)
CI Hafner, Travis, $14.5m (2012)
P Carmona, Fausto, $4m (2011)
P Wood, Kerry, $10.5m (2010)
======================
Total of $29m off your books in 2010

FOR

P Zambrano, Carlos, $18.5m (2012)
Chicago Cubs' 2nd round pick in 2010 draft

This will give you $10.5m more to play with next year and a top draft pick.  The Cubs' needs are this... bring in another catcher in the mix with Soto and Hill, replace Zambrano (if we trade him away), and bring in a bat to replace Bradley.

Your expectations are too high for the Pirates.  Derrek Lee is a run producing machine.

  • Daddy: Honestly i love the deal because my GMs love it. I dont say good deal bad deal or i like this side better.  My goal is to provide a fair platform where people are free to trade and not be judged because nobody knows for sure how these trades will play out. Lots of ACLs are gonna tear between now and new years.  Im always happy that two strangers with different backgrounds can meet in our league and enjoy freedom to be themselves and do what THEY THINK is best. I love every deal. (Had to share that @Braves) :toast:
