1.) Name:  Ernesto Quiroz
2.) ProFSL ID: Flash
3.) EMail Address(to send a Fantrax Invitation should you be accepted): dietcoke1954@gmail.com
4.) The available team you would prefer to manage:  New York/San Francisco Giants
5.) A compelling reason as to why you should be hired a a GM in this league.

I don't know if I have a "compelling reason", but I do know that I have been a lifelong Giants fan.  The last time the Giants won a World Series was in 1954 and that was the year I was born.  I grew up in a small town about 90 miles from San Francisco and when i was a youngster my Dad took me to my first Giants game at Candlestick Park.  It was against the Cincinnati Reds and I remember my Dad getting really "mad" because Vada Pinson made two diving catches in center field and the Giants lost.  Throughout the years I took my own kids to many Candlestick Park games--braving the cold winds and bad weather.  They are now life long Giants fans and we are all on cloud 9 right now with the Giants going to the World Series.

I just joined another league on this board called the Franchise GM league.  I'm still getting the hang of it, but I'd really like to join your league too because it is truly a Giants team.  The team I inherited in the GM league has a few Giants, but not as many as I would like.  I really would rather have a team I watch day in and day out, win or lose.  I have been in a variety of leagues before but they all seem to fizzle out because guys lose interest. I would rather play in a dynasty league with minor league control because it's more like being a real GM.

I don't know if that is enough reason to pick me, but I hope you do.

Go Giants!!

This seems like the perfect league for me.  When I was very young, I had a poster of Senator's slugger Frank Howard on my wall, only replacing it after the evil Bob Short stole the team.  Since the return of baseball to D.C., I have followed the Nationals and their farm system very closely and would be very excited about taking over the team.  Thanks for considering me.

Aside from maybe Willie McCovey, Frank Howard was the most intimidating figure to step to the plate. Many a 3rd basemen dreaded the moment.
That's Old School! Welcome to the league!

4.) The available team you would prefer to manage:  Kalamazoo Kazoos...although I'd settle for the Tigers.
5.) A compelling reason as to why you should be hired as a GM in this league - I have an incredible collection of stolen pens and post-it notes....plus my baseball acumen is generally above average.

The Evil Empire is just that, I want to change the ideals of that franchise and make them one, that even the west coast fans in San Diego and Los Angeles would be proud to call their own . LOL  . Honestly I am a baseball junkie and am helping Jon start up the NL only Dynasty on here and have been doing fantasy baseball since prior to the internet leagues :) I would love to be in this league with you guys. Thanks in advance either way.

Please join me in welcoming the 2 newest GMs to Old School-
lanemyer of the Detroit Tigers and JMACisBACK of the New York Yankees
Brad (lanemyer) and I go back to my DME days so I know I can count on him to be active. Jeff (JMAC) is relatively new but he is in one of my FB leagues and is co-commish(?) of a baseball league on ProFSL.
Both are very welcome additions!
Thanks,
BHows

3. Email: jmlorber18@gmail.com
4. Team: I'll take the Fightin Phills
5. Compelling Reason:

I have been a huge baseball fan all my life. I have been doing fantasy baseball for 7 years, and I have dynasty league experience. This league seems great to me and I am very interested in joining. My favorite team is the Dodgers, but since they are unavailable, I will take the Phillies. I am active every day and always try to get on as much as I can. I can make an immediate on a team I take over with trades and FA. I love the idea of the old school names and I think it adds a spin to the league that makes it different from others.

  • WestCoastExpress: It's CCD. There won't be that much trading action, lol. Half the GM's aren't really around on ProFSL much I don't think. Most set rosters but don't check ProFSL too often. Hence, even a guy like MDA didn't know it was trade deadline haha

  • WestCoastExpress: ORL "current" GM seems to be somewhat active last time I checked I though? Just given up. But yes, that team is a few solid moves away from being pretty good. The joys of free fantasy leagues.... ORL GM was a good one when he was on here last year too.

  • WillyWonka: Funny(more like SAD) thing is the Orlando GM from about 2 years ago, Nate, is the one who brought me to PROFSL & CCD to begin with...Was a super cool dude who I'd played fantasy sports with for years prior
    Today at 01:38:29 AM
  • WestCoastExpress: Last guy made some solid moves last year and was quite smart. Can't remember if it was him or MIA who was the Aussie. Either way, both of those FLA teams had good management for a short while

  • WestCoastExpress: I can't remember who recruited me or how I got into CCD BBall but it's been fun building a good team in a sport I don't really follow or know much about haha

  • WillyWonka: Last Miami owner was Morgo...He was a super cool dude, I was really shocked when he left, Miami had a really enticing team I was stoked when I saw it went to an active GM
    Today at 01:53:39 AM
  • WestCoastExpress: Morgo, that's right he was MIA. Wasn't he sharing it with a friend or something? ORL was Remy as far as I can recall. He was still willing to talk trades and be active though. Unfortunate no one was on that roster, as they could have made some moves. Same with CHA. I'm just glad I didn't pay what I was offering to CHA for Crowder last year when he was putting up BOS stats, haha
